يا من يبارز بالعقوق أباه
O you who rebels against his father with ingratitude
أمد يميني بالتضرع والدعا
I extend my right hand in supplication and prayer
عندليب السرور في مصر غرد
The nightingale of joy in Egypt sang
مدن العزيز بها السرور مشير
The cities of the mighty, wherein is happiness revealed,
الآن أنجزت الأيام أمالي
Now my hopes are fulfilled, days of yearning past
بجيش للعدا قامع
With an army to subdue the enemy
إن شهر الصيام شهر حميد
The month of fasting is an auspicious month
فلك الأثير من البسيطة قد دنا
The boundless sky of the simple has come near,
حتام ألقى جيوش اليأس والأمل
Inevitably I will cast off the armies of despair and hope
بشراك يا ابراهيم بالشمس التي
Your rise, O Abraham, with the sun that
سما فوق أعناق الرجال عباب
The clouds are above the necks of men
عمري مضى في ذكر خل ناسي
My life passed in the memory of an unfaithful one
ويلاه ويلي من ملامة عذلي
Woe is me, woe for the blame of my tormentor,
وناشر أعلام اليراع بنثره
Spreading the banners of guidance with his inspiration
يا أوحد الدهر في تدبير مملكة
O unique of the age in governing a kingdom
بدا العام بالبشرى لخير إمام
The year began with good tidings for the virtuous imam
إن الحليم محمدا من معشر
Indeed the forbearing Muhammad is from a group

قدومك من دار السعادة بالبشرى
Your arrival from the abode of bliss with good tidings
أخلاء طول العمر لا تتلذذوا
Friends, lifetime long, delight not ye
ميلاد شمس الضحى في أول العام
The dawn of the new year's sun
كل إلى رشف أكواب البديع صبا
All are drawn to drain the cups of the Eloquent one
عن الدهر فاصفح إنه لان جانبه
Turn away from fate, for its aspect is not kind.

يا رب قد عجز الطبيب الآسي
O Lord, the physician has failed to cure
بنا ننشر الأعلام في شكر هائم
With banners we proclaim boundless gratitude
حصني كفيل بحفظ
My fortress is capable of protection
افخر بمولد نجل طاب منبعه
I rejoice at the birth of a son whose source is pure
خير عام للصادق المشهور
A blessed year for the renowned sincere one
هات اسقني من شفاه سكريات
Give me a drink from your sugary lips
بانعطاف إلى الأمير المهيب
Every sweet branch in the garden swayed
يا شمس حسن بديع نور طلعتها
Oh sun of beauty's splendid light
قل للمشير وزير الترك والعرب
Say to the counselor, minister of Turks and Arabs
ألا قل لمن قد طيشته رياسة
Tell the one whom leadership has made reckless:
يا أيها الشهم الهمام القوللي

أعلي قد أخلفت وعدك
