1. The era of the Glorious One, for his justice and excellence
Has deservedly become worthy of the spread of his praise

2. And risen to disseminate knowledge, through which
The full moon of civilization glows with its brilliance

3. And with excellent organization of the military, the likes of which
Had not existed in Egypt before the day of his accession

4. And warlike spirit which showed
That supremacy and victory are among his allies

5. And it decreed for him among the kings over them
Through his precedence in his daring and generosity

6. And through it the people of homelands in his days
Looked upon the era with an eye of his satisfaction

7. So they learned and progressed in a state
That hopes for the prolonging of his survival from the Merciful

8. And desires from Him the continuance of him and his cub
Tawfiq, who captured mental prowess with his intelligence

9. So spread your banners over the heads of his soldiers
O marshal, and charge against his enemies

10. Since you are the most truthful servant in his army
For his sublime stirrups to his loftiness

11. And pride yourself in serving him, and be content with what
He has bestowed upon devotion from his blessings

12. And delight in the rank of marshal, for you are among
His commanders in times of strife and peace

13. And increase in elevation as long as the chronicler says
“The banner was spread for Marshal Râtib in his splendor”
