1. The joy of Dawood Pasha, and he is the fortunate one,
With him the commoners and servants thrive,

2. And with Jafar his pillar of support alive,
He has none but some followers.

3. So excellent is he, the best of people by far,
He revived Egypt by spreading justice,

4. And so gained reward through that benevolence,
And prevailed over the foremost masters.

5. Come on the day of festival,
And days of delightful pleasures,

6. Let's race in fields of congratulations,
To a fortress made in Egypt impregnable.

7. With it we have canons in towers,
And weapons that deter the covetous,

8. And lances which bring benefits,
While harm avoids the humble.

9. With it we strive for the fortress of the best master,
Ruler of people, free and bound,

10. Dawood Pasha, mighty one of Egypt,
Peerless glory, treasure of newcomers.

11. By his father and the seven oft-repeated,
And Lord of the House and the Yemeni corner,

12. With him we attained all wishes,
And greeted time, nothing forgot.

13. With him we revived the voice of singers,
Shall we then fear the turns of time?

14. How, when none matches him in justice,
Our Lord will keep him, Lord of the worlds.

15. Our Lord will keep him in might and glory,
For ages under the flag of fortune,

16. And days have not ceased displaying,
Times of joy, successive openings.

17. His armies still with his resolve,
The excellence of his view and steady prudence,

18. The intensity of his might and eloquent rhythm,
Trample with awe’s excess the burrows.

19. Still we pass the cup of joy,
With his rule, until resurrection and scattering,

20. And we are garbed evermore in pride’s robe,
In his spacious, secure court.
