Amongst the Arabs, a noble tribe

2. And Mars' armies so fierce
Ravaged an impostor’s garden

3. The sun in Aries blazed
Lost in the most delightful scene

4. And the beautiful flower wherein
Every young one was impassioned

5. Mercury spread artistry
In Egypt, so praise and thank

6. The moon in the belly of the sky
Shone with a radiant face

7. And the horoscopes of enemies
Under Saturn, most flourishing

8. Truth prevailed and falsehood
Met a most abundant fate

9. Time sobered from intoxication
And repented after contemplation

10. Whence it was guided from its misguidance
And ceased from the forbidden

11. Serenity in Egypt for whoever tomorrow
Will inherit those eras

12. Crown of rulership, manifestation of grandeur
Ocean of greatest knowledge

13. How much wisdom has he imparted
Grieving with fine imagination

14. How generous his hand
Bestowing blossoming meadows

15. What ingenuity in the barrages
In the Nile, best of rivers

16. He who erected their magnificence
With utmost discernment

17. Their citadels appear
Like palaces of Kauthar

18. And how many sound views
This intrepid one has

19. He rose with virtues
That no book could contain

20. Good tidings to the rank
Honored by this paladin

21. Now tongues of censure
Have disclosed their latent thoughts

22. And sang his praises
In eloquent pearl verse

23. Bringing every unique gem
Adorning the verse of Al-Buhturi

24. He chronicled his glory saying
The kernel of banners belongs to Grandeur
