1. When the army of malice advanced,
And trespassed upon the inviolable,
١. لَما سَطا جَيش الرَدى
وَعَلى المَصونة قَد عَدا
2. The sun of daybreak was eclipsed,
And the moon turned bleary-eyed.
٢. كَسفت لَها شَمس الضُحى
وَالبَدر أَمسى أَرمَدا
3. Chastity wept for her loss,
And devotion cried out in lament.
٣. وَبَكى العَفاف لفقدها
وَالنسك ناح وَعدّدا
4. She went to the Abode of Eternity,
With triumph and guidance as her companions.
٤. وَمَضت إِلى دار البَقا
بِالفَوز يصحبه الهُدى
5. The maidens stretched out their hands,
To welcome her into Paradise.
٥. وَالحُور قَد مَدّت لَها
في جَنة المَأوى يَدا
6. For her they erected there,
Sixty everlasting pavilions.
٦. وَلَها هُنالك أَرّخت
بِالخُلد ستِّي جانفدا
