1. Time has yielded to your wishes,
And the joyful nightingale in its boughs sang out.

2. This is your victorious Egypt, rejoicing in you,
And everything in it, its plans succeeded.

3. And time is tranquil in our days, serene,
Its tired eyelids, after shedding tears, are healed.

4. And victory has pitched its tents in our lands, and for us
The gates of joy with success opened wide.

5. The branch of congratulations blossomed in its gardens
And every one of its people became more joyful.

6. With civilization the settler roams
Its thresholds, and in your protection turns.

7. So he won in the shade of your justice what
He desired, and his breast expanded and relief flooded in.

8. And he adorned himself with the knowledge it contained,
With what would please the eye of a sincere counselor.

9. There he was preoccupied with ample gratitude, and in
Praising you he was eloquent beyond the rhetorical.

10. If he falls short in enumerating the least
Of what would laud you over the ages,

11. His excuse is clear, since it encompasses
Virtues none can equal under the light of dawn.

12. I still celebrate in the state of favor,
Spreading some benefit I may have glimpsed.

13. Whether a new year comes in which you triumph, as
You wish, in an age through you set right,

14. Or tongues repeat the chronicles
Of a year of the elevation of Ismail once again.
