1. O night of the middle of Sha'ban of power
You remain in our Egypt, harbinger of joy and good news

2. For in you Ali attained what he desired
And embraced the gazelle until the break of dawn

3. And strummed the lute and qanun, standing for him
As they intended, expressing what was decreed

4. And the cup of purity circulated right and left
Among all, none exceeding in drunkenness

5. And the hand of joy pledged allegiance, so hearts expanded
From them, never ceasing in gratitude

6. And tongues of companionship dated it, chronicling
The full moon attained the sun of glory with ease
