1. O Ali, in this place my apology is apt
For a time that turned away after prosperity

2. So accept now, O prince of my hope
In it, and pardon when able

3. And be pleased with it, for it came seeking
To congratulate you and take pride

4. And spread justice in the lands of the Khedive
An ideal layer fully manifest

5. And decisively end injustice with resolve
And cut off, O dispeller of poverty, its head

6. And excel in schools and make
Egypt’s mention through them a high minaret

7. And oversee them carefully
With the eye of consideration and respect

8. And give the fearful safety through clemency
Since you are the protector, defender of sanctuaries

9. You, O Emir, are worthy
Of the heights, praise and pride

10. So congratulations on an office adorned
With you and decorated with splendor and dignity

11. And propose to me what you wish, for my praise
In you continues to be innovative

12. May God increase your awe and majesty
As long as the sun rises day after day

13. Or it says to you, good morning, date it
With you the journal blossoms, O dispeller of poverty
