1. A dome in the land of Al-Azbakiya has appeared
Rising with a lofty minaret
١. فلكٌ بِأَرض الأَزبكية قَد بَدا
يَزهو بِبنيان رَفيع مَنارِ
2. And it began to boast to others with its stateliness
And the excellence of its construction and beauty of its wall
٢. وَغَدا يُفاخر غَيره بِرَصانة
وَبَديع إِتقان وَحُسن جِدار
3. And when it was completed, the chronicler said
For Mettias in good fortune the most blessed abode
٣. وَالمَجد لَما تَم قال مؤرخاً
لمتاتيا بِالسَعد أَزكى دار
