1. A blessed year for the renowned sincere one
Came seeking with its abundant fertility

2. So it adorned itself for Tunis with goodness
With necklaces of its spread out pearls

3. And its features shone from the light
Of its smile, the darkness of misfortune faded

4. So it is, among lands, the most noble abode
With a garden watered by its generosity

5. And it is for all people the highest king
Whose justice cannot be matched

6. And it is for the king a loyal protector
Renowned in the state for keeping faith

7. And it is for the religion an aider with the sword
Known for striking the enemies

8. And it is the best grantor of refuge in every ordeal
For one aggrieved among his people

9. So if one came seeking fulfillment
In a letter sealed by his command

10. In a letter of truthful promise from a noble one
Known for keeping his word

11. He attained what he desired under his protection
And became in safety a refuge for the oppressed

12. And the eagle became equal to him in hunting
To all birds like a sparrow

13. O ally of dew and most faithful respondent
To a call from one ordered to command

14. On the prosperity of your populated home
And the permanence of it, as vouched for

15. By the reliable in their inscribed register
And eternity till resurrection in a kingdom

16. Beyond the kingdoms of multitudes and ages
Where you supported it firmly and determinedly

17. With a celebration devoid of prohibition
And to establish it you appointed lions

18. To ward off harm from the oppressed
And they repel with valor from it

19. All who belong to Tamerlane
And with excellent management every minister

20. Stood in it, along with the appointed worker
And people were brought to life in the shadow of security

21. For resident and newcomer alike
And you instituted the penal laws in every decree

22. Wherein silent justice flows
And you guided those who went astray with advice

23. Found in the mentioned, transmitted traditions
And you spent money to reduce the burden

24. Of the imposed tax on its forced conscripted army
And you supported the Imam through the act

25. Of the auspicious, successful protector
And you called upon men, who are mountains

26. To battle the defeated enemy
And you allied to repel the affliction

27. Of one who has no aider among the able
And it is as if I see him turned into a neighbor

28. Of his father in his dug out grave
And his death announced among his family, children

29. And relatives in their besieged fortress
And every leader who was with him in his broken party

30. Retreats in disgrace
And calls out to him while he drowns

31. In a pool of his ripped open belly
May God not let the misstep of an aggressor persist

32. Bound in shackles for his aggression
Thus pass the nights of an arrogant fool

33. Deceived by his deluded fortune
So congratulations every new year

34. With privilege readily obtained from the sublime
And remain in the kingdom a refuge for the subjects

35. With a heart of gentle joy
When the glorious one chronicled for your glory

36. A year of good tidings for the victorious sincere one
