1. For God there are glad tidings from you
Perhaps they are heralds

2. O you unique gem in it
All the gems in Egypt were gathered

3. The king envies you
While the Caesars and emperors cannot match you

4. What the minds cannot comprehend
Your determination can achieve

5. With glory, its lights
In the two horizons are wonders

6. Patience is a firm mountain
And generosity a boundless sea

7. So you are a full moon and the sons
Are like shining stars

8. A gentle progeny
With your pilgrimage caravans hastening

9. Good fortune is a mansion for all of them
And the kingdom among them is populated

10. Indeed with their ropes the sanctuary
Is supported and allied

11. To praise Abraham, the
Years of people fall short

12. Of your circumcision feast
Pride and glories appear

13. If it is said a blossoming branch
Or it is said a sapling

14. The branches grow when
The adept prunes them

15. And the flowers thrive in grazing
And with plucking become brighter

16. The writer's pen when it sprung
The thoughts rushed to it

17. And the eye if cleared of motes
Illuminates the onlooker

18. With a cat the gathering's candle
Becomes radiant and the night-talker joyous

19. And with some of my hounds
The startled gazelle becomes friendly

20. He made circumcision a purity
Purified the pure prophet

21. Honor the sunnah with it
With it all hasten

22. And the circumcision of the royals' sons
Pride and glories appear

23. All the singers
And gatherings and councils

24. But our khedive in Egypt
Commanded the canon

25. With the blessed sunnah he
Adorned the circumcision rituals

26. Signs of righteous kindness that
Among humanity unique

27. Emancipation and charity and munificence
Abundant generosity

28. Freeing prisoners who gathered wrong
And mending every fracture

29. Giving sustenance to the chaste
With that the signs appeared

30. Forgiving the sinner with his pardon
So he regretted while taking heed

31. Who buys repute with wealth
He is the best merchant

32. Each branch praises
Each root gives thanks

33. O you planet in its Egypt
All look to it

34. It cannot fully reward the praise of the
Composer or proser

35. But I marked it
With your brilliant circumcision
