1. I have unfurled the sail of praise for the unique of the age
Descendant of the exalted, repository of knowledge and pride

2. Muhammad the Master, the Forbearing, by whom
The state of mysticism rose in that land

3. A prince endowed with knowledge, patience, wisdom
And insight, merit supreme beyond reckoning

4. He revived the customs of glory after their extinction
And brought solace to mankind through knowledge and righteousness

5. No justice of Chosroes, if weighed against his justice
Could equal a fraction of it, save a mere iota

6. No insight of Qais, the insightful, but rubbish
Before him, no kindness but paltry charity

7. No war of Amr and son of Shaddad in battle
Could match what is witnessed but some scattered dust

8. No lion from their ilk in his onslaught
No rain but drops from that ocean

9. Of his patience, piety, resolve and loyalty
And ambition, speak, and his sweet repute

10. Time brought ease and comfort
And affluence after distress and hardship

11. And our Master the Forbearing Muhammad
Receives men of knowledge with glad tidings

12. The garden of Shubra shone with his radiance
Its flowers greeted him with prose and verse

13. Its narcissi, jasmine and roses
All became fragrant with scent

14. May he remain victorious, prosperous, supported
Fortune's darling, his age named after victory

15. May he remain blessed with the greatest boon
Never free from the fetter of joy for all time

16. And may his ascendance, chronicling
The Forbearing, ally of resolve, opening and triumph, endure
