مرحبا بالأحبة المقبلينا

تقدم فهذا مطلع الحق والهدى
Advance, for this is the rise of truth and guidance
ذهب السرور وولت الأعياد
Joy has departed, and the feasts have ended,
ألا إن هذا وفد كندة قد أتى
Behold! The delegation of Kindah has come
ناد القبور وبشر كل مقبور
Call the graves and give glad tidings to all buried
الكتب تترى والكتائب تدلف
The books are scattered, and the armies advance,
هدأ المخيم واطمأن المضجع

نهضت من كل أوب تلتقي

هتف الدليل وسار ركب النيل

ناج الشهيد وحدث بعده الأثرا

ممالك الشرق ما في الحق من باس

برق بأنباء الأحبة سار
The lightning brought news of loved ones passing by
أقول للقوم إذ طاح اللجاج بهم
I say to the people when oppression befalls them
أكان يزيد بأسك إذ تصاب
Does your might increase when you are wounded?
حي الخليل وطف بتلك الدار
Greet the beloved friend and walk around that house,
ما للسحاب تدفقت أخلافه
Why have the trailing clouds poured down

عكاشة ما في الغمر من متخلف

انظر إلى المال أمسى بيننا ورقا

أبا شادي وكنت لنا حليفا

أرى الدم يجري في الكنانة دائبا
I see blood flowing in the goblet steadily
هذا إمام الدين في أعلامه
This is the Imam of religion in his signs,
هم سادة الحرب من شيب وشبان
They are the masters of war, young and old,
من حق ركبك أن يهز النيلا
Your caravan deserves to shake the Nile,
أعد الرجاء وجدد الأملا
Revive hope and renew aspiration
إملإ الأرض يا محمد نورا
Fill the earth, O Muhammad, with light
أقبل فتلك ديار يثرب تقبل
Come! For that is Yathrib - come and behold
هي الأواصر أدناها الدم الجاري
The bonds of kinship - the closest is blood flowing
بسيفك فيما اخترت من عاجل القتل
With your sword you have chosen to swiftly slay
يوم بدر وأنت أعلى مقاما
The day of Badr when you held the highest status
على ذكرها فليعرف الحق جاهله
In his remembrance, let the ignorant know the truth,
ردوا بني قينقاع الأمر إذ نزلا
Return O Bani Qainuqa the matter when it descended
إلى القوم الألى جمعوا الجموعا
To the exalted people who gathered in crowds
اذهب حيي مذمما مشؤوما
Go away ill-omened bringer of woes,
سيد الرسل وأم المؤمنين
The leader of messengers and mother of the faithful
ما للسيوف أما تثوب فتعطف
Why are the swords silent, not stirring restlessly?
من ينم عن لهذم أو مخذم
Who sleeps in weariness or slumber deep,
أجيبي أم كلثوم أجيبي
Answer me, O mother of Kulthum, answer me
بني لحيان لوذوا بالجبال
The sons of Lahyan took refuge in the mountains
ترفق يا عيينة باللقاح
Be gentle, O Uyaynah, with the steeds
طلحة الخير طلحة الجود أبشر
Talha of goodness, Talha of generosity, rejoice
هو النصر يا تيماء يتبعه النصر
Victory, O Taima, victory follows
ترك الملوك ملوك كندة وانتحى

يا بني الحارث بن كعب سلام

بني سليم أعدوا الخيل واحترسوا

علم الجهاد لك التحية من فتى
O you who have known jihad, greetings to you from a gallant man
إلى الله فارغب يا عدي بن حاتم
Turn to Allah, O Adi ibn Hatim,
يا هند حسبك مغنما وكفاك
O Hind, you have gained enough, so stop
يا بعثة الأمل المخضر جانبه
O mission of hopeful greenness whose side
هي الحماية هب اليوم داعيها
It's the protection, today its caller called
أرى بمصر ولاة لا خلاق لهم
I see in Egypt rulers with no ethics
يا مطعم الجيش أشبعت السيوف دما

مصر أنت الحياة والموت طرا

يا منذر السوء غض الصوت إن لنا

عقرب السوء تمادى في الأذى

مصر الرخاء والنعيم والرغد
Egypt, land of fortune and joy, abundance and wealth
أبوا أن يقعدوا والجيش يزجى
They refused to sit while the army was being sacrificed,
يا رافعي علم الجهاد تقدموا
O bearers of the flag of jihad, advance
الكون أشرق نضرة ونعيما
The universe shone with vitality and bliss,
هنا يا سراة الأزد حطوا رحالكم
For how pleasant is this abode and how noble this refuge
أرى العدل دعوى يعجب الناس حسنها
I see justice being claimed, its beauty impresses people,
بني الإسلام إقداما
O children of Islam, proceed boldly
وفد البحيرة جاء طوع يقينه
The envoy of the lake came willingly
مصر اذكري في الخالدين فتاك
Egypt, remember me among the immortals
لما رأيتك والقلوب خوافق
When I saw you, and hearts were harmonious,
يا دمنهور ارقبيه موكبا
O Damanhour, watch out for their procession
لك من تحيات القلوب مواكب
You have the greetings of hearts accompanying you,
قل للألى رقدوا والعدل يقظان
Tell the dear ones to sleep while justice is awake
خلت المنازل منك والأوطان
The homes are empty of you, and the homelands,
لمن الجلال يفوق كل جلال
To whom does grandeur excel all grandeur?
من لي بملء المشرقين بيانا
Who will fill the horizons with eloquence for me,
وزير الأمن مات الناس خوفا
The Minister of Security has died, people have died of fear
قل للوزير إذا خلا لك وجهه
Tell the minister, when he is alone with you
هتف البشير به وحان الحين
The herald proclaimed it and the time had come,
لعمري لئن خاس الرئيس بعهده
By my life! If the president has failed in his covenant,
نبئت ما صنع الذين تألفوا
I was told what those who came together did
أفتى العوارف والعواطف حاضرا
The saints and the tender-hearted pronounced you present,
أمهجة مصر يضرب كل رام
The archers of Egypt shoot every archer
أتلك مصارع المستضعفينا
Are those the graves of the oppressed?
يريد الغاصبون ونحن نأبى
The oppressors want, but we refuse
نبني وتهدم أيدي الجهل دائبة
We build and the hands of ignorance constantly demolish
نزيل النيل أين تركت ملكا
O visitor of the Nile, where did you leave a kingdom
ألي في الهوى ما لي وللائم العذر
My passion, for which blame I bear unashamed,
صبوا المداد وحطموا الأقلاما
Pour the ink and break the pens,
عام أهاب به الزمان فأقبلا
A year approached, time ushered it in
إنا أتينا بالثناء نسوقه
We come bearing praise we lead forth
صوت من الأفق العلي ينادي
A voice calls from the highest horizon
يا أيها الشعب الذلول أما كفى
O you downtrodden people, is it not enough
أخا الدهر ما الدهر إذ ينسب
O brother of time, what is time when attributed?
وجدنا الحق عندك والصوابا
We found truth and right with you
ما الكيد ما الغدر ما هذي الأباطيل
What mischief, what treachery, what lies are these,
بطل الكنانة من لها ولأهلها
The protector of the tribe, for it and its people
من هيبة يغضي القريض ويطرق
With awe, rhymes grow dim and fall silent,
خطب الرسول فكل سمع منصت
The Prophet preached, and every ear was attentive,
يا قوم ما ذنب الرئيس
O people, what is the fault of the president
يا بني النيل تقضى صومكم
O people of the Nile, your fast has ended
زلت بأفهام الثقات قضية
With decisive minds, a question has stumbled,
إليك أبا سفيان لا الوعد صادق
To you, O Abu Sufyan, neither promise is truthful
أتنقم ما يريبك من خلالي
Do you resent what perplexes you of my nature?
سائلوا الأبطال هل ملوا الكفاحا
Ask the heroes, did they ever weary of the struggle
أبا الفضل أقبل وارفع الصوت شاكرا
O Abul Fadl, come closer and raise your voice in gratitude,
ما يكسب المرء من إثم ولا يزر
A man earns no sin or blame
ذراني أقم للشعر في مصر مأتما
Let me erect poetry's pavilion in Egypt
أبا سفيان أي دم تريد

دعوا الشهيد لشعب ليس ينساه
Let the people not forget their martyr
أتين بهن من شوق غليل

مدوا السواعد وارفعوا الأبصارا

أعلل نفسي والأماني طماعة
I justify myself while my hopes are greedy,
أتنام عينك والعيون سهاد

عرش القياصر والقضاء إذا جرى
The thrones of emperors shake when justice takes its course,
خزاعة أبشري بالعهد سمحا
Khuza'ah, rejoice at the covenant, gentle one,
ربنا إنا اهتدينا
Our Lord, indeed we have been guided,
هنيئا أبا سفيان لا الذخر هين
Congratulations, O Abu Sufyan, neither wealth slighted,
أبا الحسين تقدم غير معتذر
Abu al-Husayn, you came forward without apologizing
أعد البناء وجدد الميثاقا
Rebuild and renew the covenant
على الجمر سر فهو السبيل الذي مضى
On hot coals, walk, for it is the path
وضح السبيل فما لنا نتردد
The path is clear, so why do we hesitate
بربك ماذا أصاب البلادا
By your Lord, what has befallen the country?
أخالد إنك ذو نجدة
Ukaydir, you are a man of merit
أبا ذر رحلت على بعير
Abu Dharr, you journeyed on a camel
هو الجد لا عذر للهازلين
He is earnest, no excuse for the frivolous
الله أكبر جل الخطب واحتكمت
Allah is the Greatest, how grand the speeches are and they came to an end
يا ابن عوف سر حثيثا باللواء
O son of 'Awf, march swiftly with the banner,
مضى الرأي حتى ما لنا متردد
The opinion has passed, we have no more hesitation
يا مالكا عنت الوجوه لعزه
O ruler, the faces yield to your might
وفد الفارس الذي تفرق الأب
The knight came, whose might makes the heroes shake,
شجن بقلبك يطمئن ويفزع
Longing in your heart is reassured and startled,
أغرك يا أسماء ما ظن قاسم
Has Qasim been deceived, O Asma, by what he supposed?
أغيثوا مصر واستبقوا بنيها
Help Egypt and seek the wellbeing of her children
بعد التحية والكرامة كلها
After greetings and all courtesy
قدوم من أبي موسى الهمام
An arrival from my father Musa al-Humam
حي العروبة آسادا وأشبالا
Stir the spirit of Arabdom, cubs and lions,
يوم الشهيد رجعت أيمن مرجع
On the martyr's day you returned, O commander, to the noblest abode,
يا دولة من بقايا الظلم طاف بها
O kingdom of remnants of oppression that was swept
ثقيف انظري أين قصد الطريق
Thaqif, look which way the road goes,
يا ابني خويلد أي شر هجتما
O my sons Khawilid, what evil have you committed,
ثقيف اجمعي للات ما شئت من عزم
Gather, oh Thaqif, whatever strength you desire,
هو وفدهم وهم الفريق الطيب
He is their envoy, and they are the virtuous group,
كذبوا على الدستور ما فيهم له
They lied about the constitution, none of them cares for it,
إليها بالأماني الكبار
To her with great hopes
لمن دم في مغاني الحي مطلول

ألا لا أرى في مصر إلا دعاويا

أكانوا كلهم داء عياء
Were they all sick, proud,
الله أعدل من حكومة معشر
God is more just than a nation's rule
هل ليم نضو صبابة فأفاقا
Shall I find respite from love's torment, and awaken?
لك الله أقبل أبا خيثمه

وفد الكنانة هل حملت رجاءها
The envoys of Kenya, did they carry her hope
علينا لك الحق الذي أنت تعلم
You deserve the right that you know
أنت المثال لكل حر صادق
You are the ideal for every free and honest soul
غوى الناس حتى لا صواب ولا رشد
People went astray, no right or guidance remained,
اذكرونا في الملمات الكبر
Remember us in great calamities,
أعيدوا الحق واتخذوه عهدا
Renew the truth and make it your covenant
هي الدراري فأين المطمح العالي
Where are the high aspirations?
بني حنيفة ما أشقى مسيلمة
O tribe of Hanifa, how wretched is Musaylimah!
يا أيها الداعي وليس بمسمع
O you who call though none gives ear,
عيينة ماذا أنت ويحك صانع
Uyainah, what are you doing, alas!
يا رب ضاق الأمر واشتد الفزع
O Lord, affairs have become straitened and distress intense,
من لي بأجنحة العواصف مركبا
Who will lend me the wings of storms as my conveyance
أعلى المآتم تخفق الأعلام
Over the highest sorrows the flags flutter
يا معشر الإنس جئتم كل رائعة
O humankind, you have come with every amazing thing
هتف الداعي فلبى واعتزم
The caller called and he readily obeyed, determined,
ويح ذي القصة ماذا يشهد
Alas for him who tells this tale, what will he witness?
أمن صلف صدودك أم دلال
بني الملوح لا حام ولا واق
لهان على نعاتك أن نصابا
جاء الرسول كتابه بيمينه
مرحبا بالإخاء في حرم الل
من يسعد الأوطان غير بنيها
ودع ذويك وسر في شأنك الجلل
بني بكر وما يغني الملام
دعا فأجابوا والقلوب صوادف
ما للنفوس إلى العماية تجنح
طف بالمصارع واستمع نجواها
أقبلوا أو فاتقوا سوء المرد
أقبل نعيم هداك ربك ساريا
بشراك أم حبيبة بمحمد
أرأيت حكمة سيد الكرماء
أرى فسادا وشرا ضاع بينهما
هو الحكم أمضته السيوف القواطع
تجيب بعثت الوفد أما سبيله
أمنك فزارة انبعث الغزاة
أبا رافع لا يرفع الله طاغيا
حميت لواء الملك فارتد طالبه
إلام تجن الحادثات وتظلم
لمن الرواسم يرتمين صواديا
كيف القرار ونار الحرب تستعر
هل الحرب إلا أن تطير الجماجم
هفت العروش وزلزلت زلزالا
أما والليالي وأحداثها
الله أكبر باسم الله أهديها
حل الوفاء الحق عقد ذمامه
أأفاق ظالم نفسه فأنابا
مصر انهضي فالدهر ساق وقدم
لبيك من حر المواقف عال
يا قوم ماذا تحملو
قل للحسين ولات حين ملام
ردوا غمراتها في الواردينا
صاح الحمى ببني الهيجاء فاعتزموا
حيوا بمصر حماتها الأحرارا
هو الركب غاديه سلام ورائحه
وفت الظنون وبرت الآمال
تلك القضية هل لها ميعاد
تلك العروبة جرحها يجري دما
لك يا شهيد الحق قام المأتم
أعندك أنا لم ندع بعدك الوجدا
أما ينهى دعاة السوء عنا
أصد بوجهي عن كثيرين إنني
أدأبك أن تريد المستحيلا
أبشر فذلك ما سألت قضاه
سيري الهوينى دومة الجندل

أما تدع العماية يا ابن حصن
خوضوا الوغى يا أهل وادي القرى

بجير كيف يخطئك السداد

إلى العزى فقد بلغت مداها
لأم سليم يا أبا طلحة العذر
سويلم ما قول ببيتك يفترى
يحنة إن تؤمن فخير وإن ترد
يقول دعاة الشر ليت محمدا
يا بني غنم بن عوف ما لكم
وفد نجران إن أردت الرشادا
توالت وفود الله تختار دينه
يا أبا العاص أي أرض تريد
أما ومضارب البيض الرقاق
أراك على ما يرهق الناس من أذى
سرية أنت وحدك
إلى طيئ يا ابن عم النبي
بني مذحج ما ثم من متردد
جرد السيف أبا بكر فما
اسألي يا نجد أهل الميفعه
بني مرة اقضوا أمركم قبل غالب
أم تدافع يأسها برجائها
فداؤك نفسي من لواء محبب
أراك على المغيب فهل تراني
أدنو ويجمح بي الإباء فأعزب
بكيت فأبكيت الطلول البواليا
أهذا هو العدل الذي فيه أطنبوا
عرف الزمان مصارع الأبطال
رب أحببني وأحبب أسرتي
مهاة اللوى حسبي وحسب الهوى ذعرا
الحكم إنصاف وحسن سياسة
كذب الوشاة وأخطأ اللوام
جزى الله ما أديتما من حقوقه
كم دون مية من عين أحاذرها
صريع هوى أفقت وما أفاقا
صونوا الذمام فإن الحر من صانا
أرى الأرض ترجف بالعالمين
يا بريد الدهر يمشي خفية
الله أكبر والإمام محمد
أتحاربون الله في جبروته
بني مصر لوذوا بالسكينة واصبروا
هدايتك اللهم إني أرى الألى
ولقد عجبت من الغواة وقولهم
بلغ الدنى فألم غير مسلم
بربك أيها العام الجديد
طاف بالقوم يحيي المؤمنين
أيها الجند ظافرا يتمشى
وإني لأدري أن للأمر مدة
ننسى ويعطفنا الإخاء فنذكر
أبلغ ضيوفك حين يشهد جمعهم
أنذر الأقوام لو تغني النذر
أعيدوا الحديث وقولوا أجل
يا أيها الناس إن الله يأمركم
مكسويني كتبت للناس درسا
يا أيها القوم ماذا في حقائبكم
أنشروا الآثار واستقصوا السير
يقول البرق شر مستطير
دعاة الخير والإصلاح مرحى
هو مهرجان الله فانظر واخشع
سأتبع يوم السبت ما عشت لعنة
ما لي دعوت فلم أجد
ألا رددوا الأنباء عن فوز ماهر
يا قوم إن كان مجد النيل مطلبكم
ظماء تريد الري من ذا يذودها
أعدوا لأعلام البيان المنابرا
وضح السبيل فما لهن وقوفا
مصر لنا منذ القدم
نظم المجد لأبطال الحمى
خلوا سبيل الشاعر المتدفع
إلى المجد إنا بنوه الكرام
صونوا الذمام فإن الحر من صانا
