1. Return O Bani Qainuqa the matter when it descended
Alas, alas, your affairs have become serious

2. You broke the covenant made on decayed ropes
By a covenantor who intended no deceit or decay

3. Your devil kept striking sparks of anger
Among your innermost being until it was kindled and ignited

4. The events of Badr were provoked by your rage
And your dormant affliction was awakened by you

5. Do you deny Islam its joy?
While God manifested it with an example of His light

6. The religion of guidance, O Children of the Torah, legislates it
For people, by the One who legislated religions and faiths

7. Do not claim you are protected by being in alliance
Or hope you will be left neglected

8. The Prophet came with the Criterion, heir of the prophets
Glory to Him who transmitted the inheritance and it was transmitted

9. He saw the souls without a guide, so He sent him
To guide the nations and cure their ailments

10. Why did you not ask your brother when He sends souls
Did he come sweeping evil away, what did he do?

11. She who insolently sought to violate her honor
Would prefer death over the alternative she was offered

12. No one can take her honor when she refuses
Out of fear of disgrace, even if she meets her death

13. And her Lord may have destined for her
To strike him with wrathful eyes so he recoils

14. He did not stop shedding blood until its spiller
Kept flowing with it hastily and impatiently

15. What deceived you about God’s decree sending him
At the hands of a hero, thereby making heroes?

16. He called you to goodness but you leaned
Toward the company of ignorance, with an advocate bequeathing confusion

17. You said, wait, we will not be matched
If the two groups meet and fight each other

18. We are not like your folk when they meet their death
At your hands and when they give you an optional gift

19. Woe to you when the fortresses tremble around you
You seek safety and express fear and dread

20. How many lofty towering fortresses astonish you
On that day, wishing they had crumbled

21. The worship of some of you discarded his alliance
So his covenant peeled off from what had adhered

22. What a fine ally you betrayed, so he recoiled angrily
Seeking God while refusing deviation and lapses

23. He was not like the son of Ubayy in his ignorance
When his devil let down his rein of freedom

24. He broke his oath, pasturing a treacherous horde
Deeming them more contemptible had they had intellect

25. Do not mention blood, for the sword decides
In the grip of a white hand that bloodies the white and brown

26. And avoid war! God has forsaken you
And you will not see a supporter to be hoped for when forsaken

27. The Messenger walked and God's troops followed him
From every steadfast one, overwhelming the tumult, fearless

28. Yearning for death and seeking it
Between the two Campaigns, neither falling short nor flagging

29. If the meadows concealed him in their bosoms
He would search them out, entering through an entrance

30. He imagines himself in the thick of fright from joy
Had he not been a drinker made heavy by refined wine

31. Hamza inspired the heroes, so they rushed forth
And he flowed forth, guiding them on the paths

32. I wonder at the folk, they fled their positions
Their fleers did not taste a sword or a leg

33. They went quickly to the sand dunes terrified
Thinking their most inaccessible would protect them from their weakness

34. The siege was prolonged and death kept watching them
Scorching hot, if only the locks had caught fire!

35. They used up the provisions and supplies they had stored
And their elders devised stratagems and exhausted their tricks

36. If everyone in need had said, "Relieve me!"
To know what was inside him, he would have been relieved

37. They cannot provide for their families and themselves
Except with torment, doubt, and hope

38. Their confusing thoughts bewildered them
Roaming in ignorance into which the ignorant fall

39. Until when the abhorred reached its extent
And every misguided opinion carrier was horrified by what it bore

40. They supplicated, asking the Forgiver for pardon
He freely pardons, for the Omnipotent does not withhold

41. He gave life to souls with His generosity
So He was more generous than one who gave and spent

42. If He willed, He could have made them all perish
Then after their demise, they would have had no say or action

43. What would the son of Ubayy think if he asked him
Forbearance and the excellence of restraint he asked?

44. Did they not see him wounded? If his pigeon
Were to meet him, it would not find other than him to return to

45. They left their homes and wealth and were exposed
Abandoning arms and going humbly, submissive

46. It is exile for a people without courage
They fared badly settling, and fared badly after moving

47. They went to the arms of Ezra, where they stayed
Miserably, scorned people whose lodging did not please them

48. They perished there and were scattered in their death sites
Suffering the evil of torment and hated affliction

49. Some blamed others for the ignorance that existed
So whoever draws near can hear them arguing

50. The destroyer leveled the citadels’ inhabitants
Proceeding so neither citadel nor mountain remains

51. Launched by the Messenger of God who destroys them
Not leaving people until they discard the apostates

52. Is not the truth’s state power that conquered?
So conquer the land with it or erase states with it
