1. The Muslims gained abundant spoils at Khaybar,
Yet when you were gained, you were more glorious and greater,

2. God is the Greatest! O bride of Muhammad,
This is the most comprehensive and abundant honour,

3. This is your lofty position that has no equal,
In the sublime terrace a preferred place,

4. O pearl adorned for the crown of majesty,
The pearl and gem from its glances,

5. Your status is your status for you are the best Safiyya,
And the crown—you have the greatest right and worthiness to it,

6. You attained through Islam in Mecca’s sanctuary,
The ultimate yearning goal that is feasible and estimable,

7. You attained the righteous people’s world and their religion,
So you succeeded and the likes of you succeed,

8. You have been enriched beyond what you may acquire—
A contemptible world and objectionable religion.

9. Khaybar’s chieftain was terrified and subdued by you,
And you entered the impregnable castle,

10. Unlike the dream you had that was distressing,
A dream expounded for the sleeping and interpreted—

11. Were you forgetful that he renewed the memory of it?
By your eye, O Safiyya, there is a green trace!

12. Woe to the son of Rabee’a! He is enraged
By this arduous position—how was it facilitated?

13. He struck you out of ignorance and evil nature—
That crime is unforgivable.

14. What did you see about the one you hated
And blamed—neither pleased by him nor choosing him?

15. His might slew your father and felled your husband,
And his blow befell your tribe—a reddened death!

16. What did you see? Did you not excuse his swords
And know that his enemy is not excused?

17. You tested him thoroughly so you found him
A most excellent comrade when trouble the companionship,

18. You loved him abundantly despite the dearth,
Yet your love for your Lord of Majesty is greater,

19. The shepherds have gone—no companion gladdens you,
And your companion, the most righteous and purest, has pastured you,

20. You chose him and were content with your Lord—truly
With you it is a blessing from God that cannot be covered.

21. Elevate your status—so enjoy and progress
With the best of what is praised and thanked!

22. If Khaybar’s gains have become great,
How much finer and greater were Khaybar’s gains!

23. O dome of the Chosen One—beneath you what Kisra built in his kingdom
And what Caesar erected,

24. An abode that terrifies onlookers and a spectacle
Wondrous—its location and features astounds,

25. In it is formidable splendor—hopes recoil from it,
Stumbling, terrified, blocked in their course,

26. In it there is safety for every generation that seeks,
In it there is governance for every era treasured,

27. In it there is life slipping out of its shrouds,
The perishing of nations when they die and are buried!

28. Alas, O Abu Ayyub, why do you have such doubt?
Lovers stay awake for their beloved,

29. Fate refuses yet circles around Muhammad
While the sword keeps vigil, observing,

30. What harm do you fear will afflict your beloved?
God suffices—so do not fear or take precautions!

31. Congratulate him for his supplication is protection
Against every tyrant who is reckless and insolent.

32. Those are banquets in the sanctuary of Muhammad,
Dazzling the souls and enchanting them,

33. The companions overwhelmed by joy engrossed over it
And all the messengers and angels are present,

34. The wedding of the Prophet—and which wedding rivals it?
That is a merit than cannot be denied!
