1. O you who have known jihad, greetings to you from a gallant man
With you he takes shelter when he steps forward striking
١. عَلَمَ الجِهادِ لَكَ التَحِيَّةُ مِن فَتىً
بِكَ يَستَظِلُّ إِذا تَقَدَّمَ يَضرِبُ
2. Wave over the army whose weapons
Protect the homelands and repel the transgressor
٢. اخفُق عَلى الجُندِ الَّذي بِسِلاحِهِ
يُحمى الذِمارُ وَيُدفَعُ المُتَوَثِّبُ
3. You shone in the darkness of tribulations like a star
The path became clear by it and the approach was evident
٣. أَشرَقتَ في ظُلَمِ الحَوادِثِ كَوكَباً
وَضَحُ السَبيلُ بِهِ وَبانَ المَذهَبُ
4. Egypt glimpsed you and saw its hopes
Walking the straight path persistently
٤. لَمَحَتكَ مِصرُ فَأَبصَرتَ آمالَها
تَمشي عَلى السَنَنِ السَوِيِّ وَتَدأَبُ
5. And it saw you rising in the turmoil so it looked
With joy towards you and came closer expecting
٥. وَرَأَتكَ تَطلُعُ في الوَغى فَتَطَلَّعَت
فَرَحاً إِلَيكَ وَأَقبَلَت تَتَرَقَّبُ
6. You have in its cause stands of a hero
Neither the opponent deceives him nor he is defeated
٦. لَكَ في قَضِيَّتِها مَواقِفُ باسِلٍ
لا الخَصمُ يَخدَعُهُ وَلا هُوَ يُغلَبُ
7. A freeman who protects its reins for it and does not see
Apart from its goal any purpose to be sought
٧. حُرٌّ يَصونُ لَها الذِمامَ وَلا يَرى
مِن دونِ مَطلَبِها مَراماً يُطلَبُ
8. So it imposed exile on the enemy, who has for him
No deviating from it or turning away
٨. فَرَضَ الجَلاءَ عَلى العَدُوِّ فَما لَهُ
مُتَزَحزِحٌ عَنهُ وَلا مُتَقَلِّبُ
9. Are we too proud to be humiliated by an aggressor
While the countries suffer at his hands and stumble
٩. أَمِنَ الحَمِيَّةِ أَن نَذِلَّ لِغاصِبٍ
تَشقى البِلادُ عَلى يَدَيهِ وَتُنكَبُ
10. We want life so he takes fright
And we moan from the pain of wounds so he is enraged
١٠. نَبغي الحَياةَ فَيَستَطيرُ مَخافَةً
وَنَئِنُّ مِن أَلَمِ الجِراحِ فَيَغضَبُ
11. Indeed, he who claimed civilization is a curse
The strong man hurls it at the weak to belie him
١١. إِنَّ الَّذي زَعَمَ الحَضارَةَ نَقمَةً
يَرمي القَوِيُّ بِها الضَعيفَ لَيَكذِبُ
12. People are free and ample
Like unrestrained birds that come and go
١٢. الناسُ مِن سَعَةٍ وَمِن حُرِّيَّةٍ
كَالطَيرِ مُطلَقَةً تَجيءُ وَتَذهَبُ
13. It is the generous nature of God to His creation
Neither the self takes it away nor can it be robbed
١٣. هِيَ فِطرَةُ اللَهِ الكَريمِ لِخَلقِهِ
لا النَفسُ تَنزِعُها وَلا هِيَ تُسلَبُ
14. God has forbidden all abomination so no
Nation is to be sold or country granted
١٤. اللَهُ حَرَّمَ كُلَّ فاحِشَةٍ فَلا
شَعبٌ يُباعُ وَلا بِلادٌ توهَبُ
