1. He is earnest, no excuse for the frivolous
And no truth if falsehood prevails

2. And no good in living if the wise rational
Does not triumph over the sly ignorant

3. The life of countries is in its deputies
And their plague is the ignorant deputy

4. Earthquakes shake its regions
While its seat is sleeping, heedless

5. If a serious matter arises
He is preoccupied with foolishness that distracts him

6. Cowardly of tongue, cowardly of soul
Yet claims to be the brave hero

7. Take the matter, O people, like men
For this is the decisive stance

8. Leave aside the whims of passion
For there is no use in following passion

9. Support the right of Egypt and its constitution
We sleep while the vigil stirs

10. Does corruption remain with no barrier
To restrain its forces or prevent it?

11. Come, demolish the vile outcasts
For the best of you is the demolisher of the spineless

12. A corrupter built them for his needs
He has an evil, lowly purpose

13. He let himself be misled when they sanctified him
And the foolish fool was brought down

14. Fates have tested him, toying with him
And time has tried the frivolous one

15. His opinion is neither sound nor wise
Nor is his rule good or just

16. We knew him following his whims
And the ignorant unemployed follows him

17. He wants so he goes recklessly
Like a raging flood

18. And he transgresses so he falls down the precipice
Seized by inescapable fate

19. If he cries women's tears by night
His fleeting days have stirred him

20. And if he is devoured by the jaws of wolves
The glutton has fallen into dishonor

21. The deviants say when he buys them
Exposing him, the speaker among them:

22. “We killed the great president
When his fading star fell”

23. Those people lied, for how many a slain
Except himself had no killer
