1. Unleash her and unbridle her,
You feared her struggle and resistance.

2. Those are her raids, so flee quickly,
Or taste her swords and arrows.

3. Raid after raid and neighing,
In the raging horse at full gallop.

4. We are her heroes, we increase the glory
Of the noble and honor the brave.

You will not see us recoil to the corner of a valley,

15. Cowering from the fray, fearing confrontation.
And you see the people hiding in the ditches,

16. Terrified, though they provoked troubles.
They fill the darkness with horror, so if dawn emerges,

17. They slip away from its flanks stealthily.
Rejoice, O Egypt, we are the protectors

18. Repelling harm and healing the wounds.
We are the fortified citadels of the Nile,

19. Refusing to let its glory be violated.
And we cast the powers of the transgressors in it

20. With forces growing only more inflamed.
The inheritance of our forefathers and wealth of our sons

21. We will redeem, we do not accept humiliation.
They claimed it right for us to live disgraced,

22. Suffering harm and complaining of sorrows.
But right is for us to prevail and tear

23. These shackles and chains altogether.
Did they seize the Nile by force or want

24. To be dependent on its people?
They will not gain it an ignorant ambition

25. That defeats the wise and the ignorant alike.
They stood up making trouble and oppression

26. For forty long years altogether.
Do the just see us created

27. As easy spoils and lawful game?
They wronged justice! They have no right to establish

28. Instead, justice is packing up and leaving.
Begone! Begone! O nation of oppressors!

29. Leave Egypt and depart! Depart!
Mobilize, O soldiers, lightly,

30. With the wind raging behind you, heavily laden or not.
O sons of the Nile, come to the rescue,

31. Protect the Nile and dispel the sorrows.
O sons of the Nile, with a roar that fills the valley

32. With an echo and terrifies the foxes.
O sons of the Nile, with a gaze that penetrates the wall

33. And unveils the veils and shackles.
O sons of the Nile, with wisdom that mends rifts

34. And prudence that seals these gaps.
What people, in the state we are in,

35. Attained freedom or independence?
This is our standard—know it!

36. And know truth and glory sublime.
It is a holy light from the heavens

37. Flowing with guidance and clearing misguidance.
Allah's mercy on the steadfast that He sustains,

38. A spirit that gives life to hopes anew.
We receive it with our right hand and find

39. In its help Gabriel or Michael.
Lord, prepare for Egypt a faithful people,
