1. Raise your book, O Suraaqah
It is the flag of salvation

2. It is a shield for you from the blows
Of those who strike with blindness

3. The prophet's covenant, what memory
Is like it for events?

4. It presents good and who would take
Himself with noble deeds?

5. And sets up flags of guidance
For followers of the guided ones

6. If He willed, He would have killed you, O Suraaqah
You would not have tasted life

7. When you came seeking to kill him
And obeyed in that the passions of the deviants

8. Have you seen Muhammad's clemency
And recognized his perfect patience?

9. Take hold of God's religion for your soul
And walk straight before it's too late

10. The religion of pride and glories
And good traits and fine qualities

11. The religion of the great heroes
And the firmly trusting champions

12. The religion of right guidance altogether
And the good of past and future

13. God is Lord of all beings
So what use are delusions?

14. If you have any mind, then one look
At creatures should suffice

15. Those signposts are clear
And the evidence is plain

16. Leave what has passed for you, O Suraaqah
Of the sins of the disobedient

17. Days that wander into error
In the evening and at dawn

18. You feared God your Lord
So take advantage of the reward of fearing Him
