1. Certainty became clear to those who see or hear,
While suppositions seldom avail or benefit.

2. Victory is truth and the warner is truthful,
Woe to the deluded one - what will he do?

3. Be humble, O Abu Lahab, for if you remain blind,
The mountains of Mecca and its plains will be humbled.

4. The master of Allah's Messenger is struck for a sin he did not commit,
And he was not a liar to be attached.

5. It has come down, O Abu Lahab, the forces of his Lord,
To debase the disbelievers and crush them.

6. The weak took their right with justice,
And the punishment was carried out, so you are now suffering pain.

7. It removed him from you with a blow from which he did not recover
Until it cast you with an affliction from which you will not recover.

8. It said you wronged and weakened him
When his master was absent and difficult times came.

9. Neither the pillar nor your head are safe from doubt,
For the deviant is deterred by the likes of this.

10. You have brought to life Umm Al-Fadl - what a virtuous deed!
Through her you attained the most precious and protected honor.

11. May Allah destroy him with a malady that has no cure,
No remedy can heal it, and no despairing person hopes for it.

12. Good tidings go around and around in his blood,
So his skin splits and fragments.

13. The boastful man has become hated amongst men
He is shunned at the tombs and cut off.

14. The pillar’s thunderbolt devoured him, but rather,
A beast devoured him after that, ravenously hungry.

15. They abandoned him for three days in his house,
Neither did the house spit him out, nor did he come out.

16. Hands avoid touching the pus of his disease,
So he is left with long planks and discarded.

17. They would have stoned him had the foolishness not disliked his terrible death,
What an awful end and dreadful fate!

18. Numerous are those who cry until their eyelids are filled
For the gathering of eggs the camels are burst open.

19. The women tore their hair out and were clothed in mourning robes
While the house resounds with laments and the ruins echo it.

20. And the Muslims are blessed by their Lord
In which every devout monotheist delights.

21. God is the Greatest - His decree cannot be reversed
He is our Lord, and to Him is our return.
