1. The lamps of dawn and the security of the valley
Did a night companion dwell around you, so I call?

2. Sadness that the echo would fade before fulfilling
A cure for the souls and hearts

3. And from ordeals, and I have tasted their kinds
Failure of guides and disappointment of leaders

4. In the protection of the Wise Remembrance my message
And to You my Lord is my return and destination

5. You are the All-Knowing of what I want and seek
And of what I endure of harm and obstinacy

6. I disciplined the youth and made my gray hair an offering
Seeking life for my nation and country

7. All for Your sake, nothing else
Except it turns to decay and depletion

8. The dissenters tempted by enmity, for they
Found Your desire in life my desire

9. For you, O enlightener of lands, a greeting
From a beholder in the light of your knowledge, set out

10. On the light of the Book and its guidance
And on she who the Trustworthy Guide exemplified

11. For you among the children of Islam the reward of a reviver
Of the ancestors’ laws and traditions

12. You championed God’s religion from its enemies
And defeated the religion of blasphemy and atheism

13. And you raged for morals with the rage of a protective woman
Who refuses a life tainted by corruption

14. And you strove to build Arabism whenever
You saw its fence without a pillar

15. Return the transgressors to the path and let me
Admonish the reckless with wisdom and integrity

16. And take pledges from the men, for it suffices them
What was of clamor and prolonged hostility

17. Weakness overtook them while they were a strength
Not to be violated by power and weaponry

18. The tyrant hands over his lead to it
While the truth takes its lead from it

19. If it withholds, it is from harm, and if it proceeds
The swords proceed with guidance and integrity

20. It had mercy on the weak nations and rallied
Others behind the campaigns, relentless

21. It did not establish an eternal kingdom, nor institute
A rule of depravity or dictatorship

22. It was created in peace for the people and as a mercy
In a world whose viciousness has become habitual

23. The oppressors shepherd it, and govern their affair
Two gluttons who devour kingdoms, predatory

24. They shed innocent blood and wade through it
Indulgently, while it was not the wish of pursuers

25. God has forbidden it, and defended it
Who can defend his Lord and oppose Him?

26. The leaders looked upon the nations, but could not discern
Are they beasts’ minds or inanimate natures?

27. And they wondered about the earth, how can it be ruled
By the tyranny of masters and the ignorance of servants?

28. The souls of the two worlds fell ill, so He cured them
The Best of Healers and Most Virtuous of Curers

29. A cure from the articulated revelation, taking hold
Of the spirits’ and bodies’ assemblies

30. The minds did not cease in their shackles
Until the Messenger Savior rescued them

31. Alas, O lover of the faith, increase in
Love for the faithful and increase in purity and affection

32. I have, for one who cares for you in youth, a fortunate
So mix your love on paper with my ink

33. And come, let us fulfill the truth in its appointment
For life is near its appointment

34. Today we have the ability to speak, though we
Are to silent dust and ashes headed

35. Speak what you wish and call your people, come
From the present, who fear God and perish

36. God will ask where has His religion been attacked
And say where are My knights and steeds?

37. Can the sleepy hope to fill their eyes
To rule the world without strife?

38. Go, O guide of the caravan, secure in step
And raise your hand in salutation of the guide

39. The Muslims are guided by their Lord
As long as your light is to the right of the valley
