1. Come! For that is Yathrib - come and behold
Suffice you from its yearnings what you bear

2. Prolonged estrangement though, and hearts pleading
Pining more deeply for you, come to where

3. Men since you left Mecca, their eyes strain
Denying solace, their breast restless, in fear

4. Looking to the horizon, their words rushing
"Will not the sent Prophet, will he not appear?"

5. You came in white robes, blessed, joyous tidings
Your face does radiate, flushed and serene

6. Glorious Zubair's work, and Talha's endeavor
Yet your work the greatest, most virtuous, pristine

7. Men hastened to you, a gathered crowd cheering
Their hearts in gladness, swiftly did convene

8. To none but you, is their need, beside you seeking
To none but you, do their hopes lean or careen

9. Their dwellings in Yathrib they spurned, abandoned
Others in Mecca, though fertile, pristine

10. There, ahead of your step, slipping, unseen
Not on Khawla's ruins did they let you settle

11. For prophecy, every abode is demesne
Settling you, the creed encompassing all Muslims

12. A lineage blanketing all, however mean
What sways it, her tunes, are they odes of yearning

13. As scent spreads gently, breathe blown so serene
Each nook is now a garden, and every abode

14. As if a bulbul resides there, not ever seen
Maidens, devout believers, celebrated your coming

15. As angels rejoice at the gathering, festive scene
A godly procession shone its brilliance

16. His majesty arose resplendent, manifest, keen
Drawing the noble prophets, firmly grasping

17. The hand of your predecessor, pious and clean
Walking with you, the Spirit so faithful, surrendering

18. As your lips at the lips of The Prophet, careen
My sons of Najjar! Muhammed loves her the most

19. Who is the most beautiful - dare you intervene?
Leave Allah's emissary! He readied dwellings

20. None else, for him, those abodes so precious, so keen
His ride had paused. Told to stop, no farther

21. "This is your halt." Not one that would trespass or preen
Men pursue life, but herein is its secret

22. Obscure, guarded, treasure never glimpsed or seen
Give Abu Ayyub your belongings, praise your Lord

23. For what comes your way or whatever may careen
Leave the reigns to happy Assad bin Zurara

24. To him, after Allah, is your trust deferred, lean
Bearing the truth, with Allah your cord is linked

25. Your rope to Him - nothing else could it have been
The Helpers vie for you, but cannot fathom

26. To whom belongs the prize - who is foremost or clean
Alchemy of truth! Else minds would reject it

27. Minds it guides, that else remain daft and mean
A wondrous world, marvels timeless, endless

28. Glory takes wing, the royal falcon serene
Those of the Cave - without their myst'ry surrounding

29. Would their dog be honored? Esteemed so keen?
Thank you Abu Ayyub - you won a bounty

30. All you wish for your soul you reap and glean
None can match your refuge, your abode

31. Where the Prophet stayed, honor pristine
His glory as prophet, your hospitality

32. Open handed your feast - nothing held or unseen
Your hands never weary of giving, abundantly

33. Of favor or grace do they tire or weaken
Bringing the joys of faith, your spirit exalted

34. More ardent, fervent, zealous and keen
They vie in goodness, to each other drawing near

35. Seeking Allah's pleasure, gifts neutrally clean
Made your home a cause reaching Allah's favor

36. Righteousness and faith whatever you glean
O Zaid! Your mother's gift - what did she hope for

37. One with purpose strives for meaning, terse and lean
She sent you seeking what the faithful covet

38. Not food or flesh, ephemeral and obscene
The Prophet thanked her, calling blessings upon her

39. Like thunder splitting the space - robust and sheen
Her gift the finest sought, for sake of Allah

40. A tireless striver, in glory garbed, pristine
Weighed against Caesar's riches, it would outweigh

41. While all else fades, transient, fragile, unseen
If I fall short describing her gift - know I mean

42. The blessing of Islam, not food triply gleaned
No qualm in your mother's struggle, fires blazing

43. You the flood, diminishing fiery, hostile scene
Warring was your garb, but you wore over that

44. Goodness, complete and perfect, sharply keen
My champions! Among you, might I find

45. A conclave where genius convenes?
For your poet, I've brought a poet's tidings

46. That play with rhythms, couplets lean
Marvels flourish in expression's kingdom

47. Some lasting forever, some pass, unforeseen
Eternal flames kindled by Heavenly guidance

48. Freely roaming, wandering far and wide, seen
The world was distracted - but not those flames

49. It cared not for ignorant minds, their deeds obscene
Refusing stillness in every watershed

50. Only the river that flows, not serene
None speaks better than Hassan, but I've no verse

51. When clamors erupt their babble to convene
You fulfilled the Prophet's reigns, upheld the truth

52. Aiding the truth that never failed or cleaned
You acted with honor, migrants favoring

53. They the virtuous folk, the clan pristine
I learned your worth - the glory you gained

54. Fixed for you among Muslims, engrained and gleaned
I proclaimed it, tidings for you unlike any

55. Tidings proclaimed or narrated, routine
Allah's people - thronging your abodes

56. As if they never left home, still there, unseen
Faith embraces, kindness entertains

57. Love nurtured, dignity preserves, keen
Allah thanked, the Prophet delighted

58. Polytheisms convulses, straying careens
Creed of guidance, while Ignorance mourns

59. Weddings here, and there dirges convene
If shaken by events, more will shake it

60. Far graver, more somber, nothing serene
Begone confusion, minds it disables!

61. Who decreed minds must stumble, careen?
Cast down your weapons, your adversary vanquished

62. Abandon the fight, your troops shift unseen
Failure, disastrous, has shadowed you

63. Fate that fails not has plunged and demeaned
The rugged path smoothens when strength perseveres

64. The smoothest when resolves intervene
A believer unyielding established strongholds

65. Though self pants, conviction stays pristine
This warner - if you insist on harm

66. Blood will wash the earth, nothing between
Your death has attracted arrows - how can

67. An archer remain when his target is skeaned?
God is Great! Every untruth crumbles

68. The clouds have passed, empty lies cleaned
A second mosque will rise in Yathrib

69. Muhammed builds devoutly, keen
You will build it, tireless, excelling

70. None equals your climb, outpacing, careen
If heavy the burden laid on you

71. Heavier on followers, routinely
How much glory, by the hand

72. That even its smallest finger, obscene
It comforted you, though your humility long

73. Wished to be just like it, weak and lean
Allah's Messenger among his comrades

74. No hardship evading, reclined or demean
Circling them, his face dust laden

75. Masked in dirt both fore and between
All who aided, carrying weights and burdens

76. Persevering, their backs sturdy, strong, keen
None better than this rival's words

77. If only their wisdom prevailed, was gleaned
The Imam hailed them, repeating aloud

78. Then turned aside, polite and serene
Ammar! Blamed though you are, but woe to him

79. Of narrow vision who blames, demeans
Ibn Mudhaffar you rebuked, and furious he came

80. Seething rage, like furnace wood cleanly gleaned
He would surely evade dirt, elegantly

81. Had he evaded blows, not intervened
Patience, prudent one! Your brother battled

82. And in the fervor of war does not weaken
The Prophet commands us - protect the sanctuary

83. Though hot-headed, mightiest when keen
No sword can touch one whom Allah guards

84. What cannot be touched by tools finely skeaned?
Tomorrow his blood, when the staves collide

85. Under saddle girths, the drenched spears lean
Call to prayer! For creed's pillar is standing

86. Its edges fixed, nothing oscillates or leans
It descended on the Peninsula, encompassing

87. Penetrating its regions, unseen
As if a herd-driver had turned away predators

88. Or a quail catcher had startled a flock, cleaned
Men hastened to prayer - it is the fairest sight

89. Rows arrayed, bowing devoutly, keen
Faces joyous - humble and kneeling

90. Fearing God, prostrating submissively, clean
Pray, O People of Islam! Behind your Prophet

91. Take what is decreed in Revelations gleaned
Allah supported you, sustained you

92. With an enduring light, pristine
You chose the exemplary Law - your striving

93. Ascends, while misguidance descends, demeaned
Can two bands equal? One ascends constructing

94. One fallen, crumbling, eroding, unseen
They bond in desires though their hearts scattered

95. A glimmer remains, then fades, cleaned
A triumph pursuing another, openings beyond

96. Enraging the pagans, their pride preened
A man whose whims swayed him

97. After the path was clear, misguided, careened
Truth is Allah's gate - will any enter?

98. Blessings for one who seeks salvation, and leans
God has commanded, obey Him

99. You are His honored and favored, esteemed
O Spender of Wealth! Your spending attained

100. What no Muslim philanthropist has gleaned
You followed your soul, possessing nothing, so bounties

101. Come pouring, palms outstretched, keen
For you alone, Bilal, is leadership - we hear none else

102. Calling the throngs, which then convene
Allah garbed you in dignity, choosing for you

103. What the trusting believer loves, pristine
O You endured so long - but did not weary

104. Seeking whom the dissenters had abandoned, unseen
Your God is the One - you never lied

105. For one hoping deliverance, who else can he lean?
Show me your hands - do they harbor for Umayyah

106. Adders from lethal stings swarmed, keen?
The sword is Allah's sword - more fearsome in impact

107. Than boulders cast, or twisted ropes cleanly sheared
Tomorrow his blood, when the staves meet

108. And the soaked spears under saddle girths lean
Call to prayer! For creed's pillar is standing

109. Its edges fixed - nothing oscillates, unseen
God's Envoy to the Peninsula - it yielded to him

110. Flowing into its midst, penetrating, keen
As if a herd-driver had turned away predators

111. Or a quail catcher panicked the doves, cleaned
Men hastened to prayer - the fairest of sights

112. Ranked rows, ordained and arrayed, pristine
Hopeful faces - humble, kneeling devoutly

113. Fearing God, prostrating submissively, keen
Pray, O People of Islam! Behind your Prophet

114. Take the decrees in Revelations gleaned
Allah backed you, sustained you

115. With enduring light, not ever dimmed or cleaned
You chose the exemplary Law - your striving ascends

116. While misguidance descends, mired and demeaned
Can two bands be equal? This ascending, building

117. That plummeting, eroding, collapsed, unseen
One conciliates while hearts of others scattered

118. Some light remains then fades, wholly cleaned
Triumph on triumph, openings beyond
