1. They gathered the East in conference,
So say to the West, where is the escape?

2. And stand for the right, that you may support it,
And they stood behind shields the impregnable.

3. It is injustice that stirred up all the forces,
So they neither settle down nor rest.

4. It roused the generous, so who is fleeing
And who is rushing to confront the West?

5. And it startled the virtuous, so it unleashed them
From behind the veil that concealed them.

6. They came from various places to struggle against it
And to extinguish the flames of its raging evil.

7. And they came to gouge out its eye,
And to charge through its fangs to victory.

8. What a formidable tiger you are,
And what lionesses oppose the tiger!

9. They took up arrows and aimed them true
With hands softer than the murmur of flowers,

10. With the delicate fingers of maidens, white as shoots,
That melt iron and split stone.

11. Their tremors shake mountains
And their resolve penetrates citadels.

12. O Palestine, your struggle is the talk of fate
And the terror of the age and destiny’s dread.

13. Volcanoes sleep from caring for it,
But your blazing volcano does not sleep.

14. Wonders that differ in appearance stand against injustice;
Civilization pours its horrors

15. With the hands of the sublime – they are humanity’s guides.
They say we are protectors of the weak;

16. Yes, they are protectors of mere babble.
Innocent of resolve, they speak only

17. Mockery and evil.
They have such power, O what power!

18. That confuses minds and exhausts thought.
From one exquisite form of harm

19. To another novel invention.
When they exhaust arts of the past

20. They bring new arts after them.
They are the only people without precedent,

21. Hoped for in all time or awaited.
Tyrants that devour nations

22. And touch the flames in infernos.
In the East they have a hymn

23. That deceives those who are deceived.
If misfortunes wounded us,

24. Destinies taught us life's lessons.
What time’s events have taught us and change

25. Have sufficed us.
Is there no aid for the dying?

26. No breath of compassion and grace?
We jest and play, while amongst our people

27. Are stripped souls that know no joy.
It is as if we live beyond time,

28. Without news or information.
It is as if life is just words spoken

29. And events from the excess of revelry.
It is as if Palestine did not rise up

30. Against the flood of tribulation and plead for help.
We refused the covenant of neighborliness

31. And did not fulfill the right of valor and zeal.
They protect our honor with swords

32. While that prime disgrace abandons them.
They took up arrows and aimed them true
