To shake the foundation of each tyrant cur

8. You saw their disjointed crowds and hither
Your messenger brought tidings of help to proffer

9. With Abu Ubayda outfitted for war
The essence of death flows from his mighty roar

10. Muhammad ordered him be patient awhile
Lest haste bring woe, he is no disobedient child

11. He disputes not your leadership, then agrees
Such is the nature of one worthy to please

12. You pelt the unbelievers with surging attack
Heroes unleashing fury that nothing can turn back

13. In panic they fled their encampments away
No steed could save them from their woeful day

14. In place they stood hoping to withstand the wave
But thunderbolts fell which no man could brave

15. Alas no stand can mortal make against the storm
Save the stalwart hero gripping sword in arm

16. You gained your full due of plunder and blood feud
And won high honor - glory's greatest meed

17. The prudent commander of guile and cunning
Master of secret stratagems so stunning

18. You held back fire lest your warriors lose
Their prudent caution - a general should choose

19. To shield their weakness from the scheming foes
And not play open where deceit forebodes

20. You did not pursue the routed Quda’ah flight
When Safiy fled betraying honor's light

21. With sword of clever feint you continue to smite
Rending them with keen and subtle might

22. The Valiant Ali made audacious remark
Kindling the pride in chests that nobly mark

23. But Abu Bakr gently bade him slow his tongue
And keep to virtuous ways that rightly belong

24. The Prophet knows his companions well, far more than you
You are no match to him in wisdom true

25. War is not won but by minds strategic
That guide all matters with vision prophetic

26. Prince of the forces, a mystery you remain
To command unseen soldiers your glory and gain

27. The Truthful and the Valiant in you found
Embodiment of manners perfectly sound

28. Can God’s affair ever be undone, nay
The righteous cannot let the righteous stray

29. If stations equaled though they are not thus
What distinguishes the wise man from the foolish

30. Indeed O Amr no secrecy in your repute
When men recoil, to the brave they depute

31. You surpassed the early vanguard to heights unknown
Beyond the farthest goals that heroes have shown

32. Such is the blessing of your Lord bestowed through you
Upon the scion of fortune - honor his due
