1. Such are the consequences of transgression, so observe how they turned out
Oh, what a difficult path Mus'ab took to leadership

2. Did you see the people as evil and harm
And see the people as fire and ashes

3. They were buried in a scorching pit
That dims the world and keeps blazing

4. Filled with terror and increased in ferocity
From a punishment that was weak then grew

5. Stop by it and examine what is in it
Do you see anything but writhing and shivering?

6. Oh how they claimed their idols
Could incapacitate God in combat and dispute

7. My Lord is Sublime, His might did not spare
Any souls among them nor leave equipment

8. They disputed with God and opposed His troops
And I see the idols more deserving to be opposed

9. They misled them so they strayed and rebelled
And preferred disbelief aggressively and stubbornly

10. They circled arrogantly yesterday in their tyranny
Then perished in its abysses and perished

11. A lesson in the soil was sedition
And a torment that was evil and corruption

12. Happy is every heart that is brave
That swallows the disbelievers two by two and alone

13. Your fast from them grew long and the fold intensified
So the people took to blaming and abandoning

14. They tried war and came so they met
Overwhelming calamities and severe horrors

15. They heard the voice but there is no speaker
To inform the questioner among them when he called

16. O Messenger of God, they are occupied with their own affairs
An overwhelming deluge and an ordeal that keeps growing

17. The promise was fulfilled so each is certain
Oh, what certainty they would have if they heeded

18. They rejected the truth and sought other than it
So it is as if God does not repay His servants

19. Thus is one who worships tyrants, he does not
Fear a Lord nor hopes for a return

20. My Lord is Sublime and Exalted, He
Fulfills every matter He intends

21. Rise, O pillar of truth, as a pillar
And stand firm, O tyrants of evil

22. What truth has been humbled in its authority?
What falsehood has been honored and ruled?

23. God has sharp swords and armies
Who never tire of striving

24. He sent the fleet in His signs
Prevailing, exhausting fleets in pursuit

25. A power He sent by His command
That opens the world and seizes nations

26. All good, O Safwan, is in
The destruction of the people so do not begrudge fate

27. Leave Umayr, do not provoke him, and curb yourself
The intelligent has self-restraint in the matter

28. He took the sharp polished sword
That takes the heroes and the brave in white

29. He continued to water it but did not know
Whether what he watered it with was poison or martyrdom

30. He disliked the truth so when it came to him
He cast aside hatred and purified affection for him

31. From a narrative God informed of
Better than one who narrated about Him and excelled

32. He said, “I surrendered to my Lord and it is enough
With the gentle path as religion and belief”

33. Recite the Quran and follow its guidance
O Umayr, good if one who strays desists

34. It is the light that clears blindness
It is the secret that gives life to the inanimate

35. Where, O Safwan, is what you wished for?
Where is what you told, the black and white are equal?

36. Oh what a sudden loss carried it away
Consequences of the atmosphere though it was a confidant

37. Do not think generosity is a debt that can be purchased
You will see pure generosity and the generous

38. You will see it as a valley of blessings
That frustrates hopes of striving and getting accustomed

39. It is from the overflowing of the wished for
That walks the earth extending and moving straight

40. The gentle Messenger and Master who
Caters to generations in righteousness and care

41. Suggest what you wish and aspire, do not worry
Of deficiency or depletion from his palm’s bounty

42. What you avoid harm from time in is most fortunate
And how high is one who takes heed as a purpose

43. A cause held to God by one who seizes it
Will not fear injustice nor dread persecution
