أمير أهام الفضل في ما بذاته
A prince who values merit for its own sake,
مليك الورى عبد المجيد قد ابتنى
The king of the world, Abd al-Majid, has built
فدى الجلابيب والأطمار من وبر
Ransomed are the robes and cloaks made of fur,

O Baghdad, you riders, hasten
يا أيها القلب الخفوق بجانبي
O throbbing heart beside me
أقول لعطفها عند النهوض
I say to her charm as she rises
بالماء يحيي الأرض مولاك الذي
With water, your Master brings life to the earth
كنا نؤمل أن نهنئ نعمة
We hoped to congratulate a blessing
رأى أطلالهم دمعي فسالا
My tears flowed when I saw their ruins,

قف بالعقيق وسل نسيم رياحه
Stop at al-Aqiq and ask the passing breeze

Oh, what a delightful journey that spares you
أتتني بلا وعد من المنزل الأسنى

هذا الكريم حبيب ابن الجدي على

تشرفت واستنارت تربة بفتى

رأى قصب السباق بنو الزمان

مضى الشيخ مرعي راحلا عن ديارنا
في اللحد شرشل بيك بات ونفسه
إن زرت قبر ابن نحاس لصبوته
هذا ابن إسحاق عبد الله فرع بني
نار وما ادراك ناري ما هيا
أجارتنا هل للنسيم وصول
أسحرا كان شغلي في هواكا
ألحمد لله الذي خلق الورى
إن قلت ويحك فافعل أيها الرجل
تقول لقلبي ربة الأعين النجل
هذا الأمير الشهابي بعد فرقته
خذوا حذركم من طرفه فهو قتال
قد مد خط عذاره فأجاده
لاحت من الغرب في وقت الغروب لنا
لقد أتانا غلام طاب مولده
قف بالمطايا على أنجاد ذي سلم
وقلت لها بعشيك ذقت راحا
نحن النصارى آل عيسى المنتمي
طال النوى حتى تقطعت المنى
أي ذنب ترى وأية زله
لأهل الدهر آمال طوال
أنت الخليل وفي الأطلال برد لظى
أخاف إذا أشار براحتيه
لنا ليلة قد أشبهت ليلة القدر
ما قبر انطون في الدنيا سوى صدف
بين رئم الحمى وآرام رامه
بناء العلى بين القنا والبوارق
أهديت مما في يديك محبة
أغر له خلق تهلل بالبها
إن كان يلبس ما أفاد تجملا
يا قلب حنا ابن دوماني اصطبر كرما
قف باكرا وقل السلام على ثرى
طيف بلبنان من مصر إلي سرى
آسين بنت الأرقش اندرجت هنا
لموسى بسترس نجل سعيد
يا حسن حمام سما بنقائه
مدامع جفن الصب إحدى الفواضح
إن ابنة الحداد طنوس انطوت
طيف إلي سرى عن غير ميعاد
قضى بالله لطف الله طفلا
القلب بين الصحب أعدل شاهد
زوروا حمى بيعة كالنجم طالعة
لا يلزم القمر المنير المشرقا
بين قلب المحب والأحداق

دار الأمير سعيد اللمع قد سعدت
مات الحبيب كأنه لم يولد
أتدري ما بقلبك من جراح
المرء في الدنيا خيال قد سرى

نزع القريض إلى حمى نقاشه
ماذا الوقوف على رسوم المنزل

صبرا بني الباحوط إن فقيدكم

لمن المضارب في ظلال الوادي
أسفا لمن قد مات قبل مماته
وقفت مدحي فلا يطمع به أحد
هذا العسيلي الذي نزل الثرى
تذكر المنحنى فانهل مدمعه
أطوف الأرض في شرق وغرب
خود من العرب عافت شيمة الكرم
دع الحزن في الدنيا وبشر عبادها
نعم الهدية يهتدي الساري بها
عندنا في مدينة الشمس برج
لو أنصف الراثي وسار على هدى
أهدى الكريم إلى بيروت جوهرة
لنا عيد يدوم لنا جديدا
من عاشر الدهر لا يخلو من الهوس
أتتني وهي سافرة صباحا
الفضل من أهل الكرامة يعرف
قل للوزير إذا وقفت ببابه
تنبهوا يا عباد الله واعتبروا
جاد الزمان بنعمة متصدقا
يا نفس هل من أمر ربك عاصم
من عاش في الأرض لا يخلو من الكمد
خير الرثاء الذي بالقلب قد لطفا
يا أرض بيروت بشرانا وبشراك
ما زلت أسمع ذكر عبد القادر
أهلا بعائدة أتت تشفيني
للموت يولد منا كل مولود
منازل عسفان فدتك المنازل
سلام على وادي الأراك وحاجر
لكل قلب حبيب ظل يهواه
بشراك بالخير يا لبنان بشراكا
لعمرك ليس في الدنيا خليل
لله يا فاضلا تحيا النفوس به
عليك بالعلم فاطلبه بلا كسل
غزالة معشر فيها نفار
كتاب مثل مصباح صغير
اليوم لاح لنا في الحي شمسان
هذا ضريح فتى بنعمة ربه
هذا الضريح لفاضل سعدت له
أملاك نور لميخائيل معتنقه
لقد ناحت ربى لبنان حزنا
أمسى حبيب الله في فردوسه
هذا ضريح الذي ما زال من قدم
هذا ابن رزق الله فارس قد مضى
لبني عطاء فجعة بعد الذي
يا حسن يوم إليه الناس قد جمعت
للشيخ قاسم جنبلاط كرامة
هذا ضريح كريمة قد هاجرت
قد بناها عمر ركن بني
هذا كريم باسم أحمد قد أتى
يا بنت بطرس يارد البكر التي
ضريح حل فيه كريم قوم
من آل ساروفيم بدر غاب في
من آل يارد في هذا الضريح فتى
أبكى الشيوخ بني حبيش راحل
يا ليلة من ليالي الطيبات بها
قد سخر البرق الذي راحاته
قد بات داود عيسى الحلو في حلل
أبدى محمد دية بزفافه
داود عيسى بنى دارا مباركة
ذهب السعيد عزيز مصر طالبا
زر ضريح المصطفى وادع له
يوسف الشيخ الرفيع الشان من
أنشا لإيليا الغيور كنيسة
أدار خط عذار حول وجنته
لكم يا بني الخوري البقا بعد راحل
