1. Did you recognize the abode between Aqiq and Darat Raf Raf
An abode we knew as pastureland for deer

2. Now it became theaters for eloping lovers
Its panels were scratched by winds so

3. Hands of clouds negligently dripped on its letters
You see its patterns looming around its lines

4. Like streams around verses of the Holy Book
And I stood at the dwellings and paused

5. As if facing the horrors of Judgment Day
I called upon it like a beseecher

6. But what use is calling an empty ruin
O people who endured, did the confidant's heart weigh on you

7. He followed the caravan but couldn't catch up
And longed to turn back but found no exit

8. The abodes are empty, expecting no hospitality
Nor a son of generosity to the guest

9. Alas, the son of generosity has settled
In the abode of the Caliphate, in the noblest place

10. Glory to the Lord of the Glorious Throne, for in
Ibrahim's being appeared Yusuf's image

11. With the fire of his separation, my heart prayed and found
No coolness or peace there to extinguish

12. That generous man, son of the generous whose
Famed mention and gentle subtly

13. Inherited generosity from his father and grandfather
Yet he does not suffice with preserving it

14. The Turks and Arabs alike testified to his merit
With no pretense or affectation

15. He attained what he deserved, and even beyond
So look to either and judge with fairness

16. A sign befitting him, so excellent is the Chosen One
Who was favored with it, so excellent the Choosing One

17. Oh traveler, if only his abodes
Could journey to him without stopping

18. If you turned your face away from us
Your memory with us has not turned

19. From me to you, a message in whose wrapping
Is the longing of the confidant and the loyalty of the sincere friend

20. I loaded it like a ship within a ship
On a sea, to a delightful sweet-watered sea

21. It knew the heart has set out to you
So it hastened after it like a pursuer
