1. Joy has overflowed the courtyards of Jilq
The grove and the sand dunes are chirping

2. A river of water flows in it
And a gulf of bliss gushed forth

3. Good fortune is created for some of the servants
After a while, and some in good fortune are created

4. Indeed, whoever is worthy of gifts
His Master gives him and provides for him

5. And the realm of provisions is like the sea
Whoever does not know swimming, drowns

6. If the creations of God were equal in esteem
Some would not be distinguished from others

7. Many individuals surpass thousands
And thousands cannot catch up with one

8. And the generous one who renews glory
Is not connected through inheritance to his glory

9. And the one whose glory increases anew
The more his life grows and ripens

10. You, O pillar of our people, deserve this
And you are most befitting among your people

11. Every soul that loves you is out of insight, not
An ear falls in love before the gaze of an eye

12. The pupil of the Caliph looked one day
A look of utmost sincerity and truth

13. Bestowing upon you a rank in the heights
You are most deserving of it, most faithful, and most apt

14. Not everyone who wore a garb and jewelry is worthy
Of adornment, some are torn apart in disgrace

15. Sublimity adorns some, and some
Their villainy necessitates their garment be ripped

16. O you whose complete traits are soft
Bringing together refined qualities not dispersed

17. You have a secret bound to you and praise
Flowing in every corner of the earth untethered

18. And a tongue that runs on the path of truth
And wealth spent in the obedience of God

19. And you have the ambition which when resolved
No closed door disobeys its opening

20. It is a fire that does not turn to ashes
And it is a sword by which firmness does not waver

21. And I have said to one who intended praise
To please a noble soul and believed

22. Adorned like a ringed dove
It saddened the horizon when he was absent but

23. The caravan of company when he returned was plenty
Eyes in Damascus saw him when

24. Like the full moon he disappeared and rose
