1. Peter came from the cities of Armenia,
Fate befell him in travel the fate that flows,
١. قد جاءَ بطرُسُ مِن عَواصِم أرمَنٍ
فأتاهُ في السَّفَرِ القَضاءُ الجاري
2. And became over him a tomb for the historian -

٢. وثَوَى ضريحاً للمُؤرِّخِ فوقَهُ
طالَ البكاءُ على غريبِ الدَّارِ
