1. Ibrahim's message came traveling
Of a face of kindness, favor, and benevolence

2. It showed noble character as a witness
Like claims that were proven with evidence

3. He deserves to be praised
For he was unique among the Arabs

4. He revived poetry which its splendor had faded
Among the people of the desert since ancient times

5. They reached a goal that was missed
By tribes of all poets and judges

6. Time passes and its people fade away
But their memory remains, not ephemeral or vanishing

7. They have glorious deeds in every eminent poet
And a raid that erupted in every battlefield

8. And wisdom that shone from the head of every youth
Who did not study books or sit in councils

9. Our elders do not attain in schools
What the shepherd of goats and sheep attained

10. And after effort does not compose celebrating
What flowed naturally from the tongues of boys

11. I long for those lands as
The dwellings of Mayya longed for Mount Gheylan

12. And I crave the scent of its virgin sands
And sights of oryx, ibex, and grouse

13. I love the glorious generations of its tribes
Ancient and recent until now

14. And I seek to hear traces that remind me
Of the era of those who passed from Qahtan's time

15. O you who follow ancestors
You are neither unjust nor criminal

16. People borrow poetry
While you dwell among family and homelands

17. If I miss a gaze of favor from you
I do not miss hearing of ears

18. Fate denies all good things but if
I obtain some one day, it would please me
