1. O crescent moon, radiant before the full moon
But eclipsed suddenly in the new moon's first night

2. You remained for us fifteen nights, so we have
Five and ten nights to lament you

3. You have wounded hearts seeking a cure for their wounds
They said there is no cure but patience

4. Those who live in this deceptive world
Will not be safe from betrayals

5. God decreed separation after meeting
If only you had warned of separation before

6. When the good we attain passes away
Evil passing is better than it staying

7. We obeyed and submitted our affair to God
In every state, He owns the command

8. He chose whom He loves and swiftly pulled him
To Himself, pure, undefiled

9. He granted him the pure life, no sorrow
Reached him, nor was he returned to the worst life

10. O Ibrahim's grave, you are his cradle now
And his companion till the end of time

11. O Ibrahim's grave, honor one granted bounty
Dear to a mother with a torn heart

12. O Ibrahim's face, time has changed you
As sorrow has changed us, if only you knew

13. One came yesterday to congratulate, today one comes
To console, joy almost mingled with bitterness

14. This and that the judgement of One whose rule reigns
So whoever surrenders to Him succeeds
