1. For whom are the tents in the wilderness of Al-Hawjal
Beneath the domes, dragging the train of Al-Qastal

2. My heart follows their traces
And if they were to tread on it with two feet

3. Towers of crescent moons that disappear in daylight
And rise again in the approaching darkness

4. They burdened me with that, if a part of which
Were borne by reddish camels, they would not arise with the load

5. I have a love among them, I am hers
And I wish that she would be pleased and say “You are mine”

6. She stood tall, thrusting with white spears
And black swords that were not polished

7. And I say to whoever stayed watchful
It would not have harmed you if you had stayed remote

8. Keep away from us and wherever the bounty of the
Spirit of the Trustworthy has descended upon Muhammad, descend!

9. Visit that fertile land and stand in it
A day standing hopefully and contemplatively

10. A day deserving of remembrance after
The long span not like the days of clamor

11. This is the son of Rislan Al-Tanookhi who
He is of the first class in leadership

12. The one whose exploits are narrated as
The Prophet’s Hadith by the messenger is narrated

13. A master whom luck keeps serving his door
And walking around his mount in the army

14. His star outshone the planets so they faded
Like the sun that makes the planets invisible

15. So when he walks, the processions walk behind him
And when he settles down, he sits in the place of honor

16. And when he speaks, they listen as if he
Recites the Verses of the Revealed Book

17. Kindling ideas, if they appeared to us
They would suffice instead of the lamp at dawn

18. He throws the turns of events with arrows
From his glance, hitting the eye of the target

19. He continues to do as he says, and I
In praise, say nothing but what he did

20. I remain like the honest narrator, and sometimes
Passion prevails, so I was like the lovesick poet

21. With Muhammad and Abu Muhammad the abode
Of leadership shone like the full moon rising

22. A branch grew from the best pure origin
And honey does not come from bitter colocynth

23. When I met him he was but a young man
And when I experienced him he was the perfect elder

24. He narrates the Hadith of early times as if
He was from the era of Tasim, an eyewitness who did not neglect

25. I saw from his refinements what the expression
Of narrators did not convey, so it was unnarrated

26. And I saw his father’s secret depicted in him
Like a person appearing from behind a screen

27. If my feet do not settle in his abode
Then my heart settled in it and did not depart

28. It is the best of lands to me in rank
And so I singled it out with “the best”

29. An abode wherein lies attainment of benefits and wishes
And it has the finest customs in the most beautiful

30. The Merciful has not changed His ways for
One who did not change his expectation
