1. Stop your tears, o you who cry, for tears

8. If you do not accept separation from a friend,
Then leave with him, and guard your sanctuary.

9. An illness, old in life, and
No hope to cure the disease when it becomes chronic.

10. And if corruption afflicts the circumstance by itself,
How is there hope for it to be safe?

11. So make solace for yourself a place to eat,
And make from pure patience an ointment.

12. If you realized the value of its benefit,
You would give a dinar to get a dirham of patience.
