1. A message from the noble one arrived
It was dearer to me than gifts of honor

2. It openly expressed his cordiality
And the generosity of his noble traits

3. I opened its seal and found in it
Subtleties that revealed the joys of secrets

4. And its cover revealed an exquisite mystery
Calling out how many secrets in the corners

5. If you are not truthful in praising me
You were truthful in the sincerity of guesses

6. And it is his right to be praised for traits
Whose merits are undisputed facts

7. I am like a mirage deemed to be water
Wherein the thirsty have high hopes

8. And imagination may substitute certainty
And good reputation for good qualities

9. He who deserved praise is gone
And every emerging star has set

10. And dust has returned to dust
As death has claimed the final home

11. Those before us got the life's goodness early
And at it found the prime of gifts

12. So those people were kings in this world
While we are today some of the subjects
