1. In the dome of the heavens a sun rises
Yet in our land a sun more glorious and beneficial

2. That one rises in the day while our sun
Its light at all times shines forth

3. The minister has arrived so rejoice O servants
In righteous deeds and in peace delight

4. The days have been generous with him so whoever complained
Of the days being miserly has lied

5. O loneliness of holy Jerusalem if only
He could, he would walk with him to bid farewell

6. And the joy of Beirut whose minarets
Nearly clapped while doves cooed

7. This one girded with the sword, his resolve
Is sharper than the polished blade and more cutting

8. From him a word takes all eloquence
While with a finger he turns the lands of Syria

9. In him for every limb is an ear awake
It yearns and for every limb an ear attentive

10. His governance has expanded but his heart
Is more spacious and broader in affairs

11. His speech surpasses all others by miles
But to him if it gets lengthy then arms-lengths

12. He strikes the distant one with his glance so he leads him
And his resolve melts iron so it cuts

13. Thanks to our state which has never lacked
Gratitude in every land a position

14. It feared for us the darkness of our time
So it revealed to us the light of a shining sun
