1. Praise be to Allah who granted relief
To the afflicted without sin or shame

2. To one whose only crime was to protect
Homes, wealth and family from defilement

3. To one who, like Abraham, was ever a neighbor
Amidst raging flames, unharmed by their blaze

4. One whose only thought was perfecting good
While others plotted in their errant ways

5. Muhammad, Most Praiseworthy, his tidings spread
Truthfully by his eloquent, ardent tongue

6. Serene of brow, generous of hand, endowed
With mighty station and gentle grace.

7. A sage though young, whose wisdom shamed the old
His words reinforced by proof and evidence clear

8. Knowledge his drink in books that were his friends
He was transported not by song or cheer

9. The kind acts I recall, blessings without count
I'll ne'er forget, however many days stretch ahead

10. My loyalty to him, whatever may come to pass
I'll follow wherever destiny's thread should lead.
