جاد الحيا كل روض في طرابلس

علل حشاي بذكر ذاك المنزل
Tell of my passion with memories of that house

الله يعلم ما بالعين بعدك من
All that God knows what the eye experiences after you

لله يوم بالمسرة قد صفا

بكى ابن عبيد يوسف إذ أتاه

من مال يوحنا ابن جمال جرى
With wealth of John son of Jammal this way flowed
وافي خيالك زائرا تحت الدجى
Your imagination came visiting me under the darkness
دع مجلس الغيد الأوانس
Leave the social gathering of the languid fair ones,
زمان الحمى هل من معاد فنطمعا
The days of fever, will there be a return so we may hope?
لقد عرض الوداع فبات قلبي
Farewell crept in, now my heart's a hostage
ما في زمانك من ترجو مودته
There is none in your time whose affection you hope for
أمنازل الأحباب ما فعل الألى
What did absence do to the homes of loved ones?
هذه رسالة محبوب إليك سرى
This is a message from a lover to you it came
إليك على البعاد مثال صب
To you from afar an image of yearning
جهد الحزين إذا صرف القضا نزلا
The effort of the grieving when fate decrees adversity,
يا أربع الخيف يسقي الماء واديها
O four doves watering the valley with its slopes
تصبروا يا بني الجمال بعد فتى
Be patient, O sons of beauty, after a man
أتى يوسف الفياض نعمان فانجلى
Yusuf the generous came to Nu'man and shone
هذا الغريب الذي أبكى دمشق وقد
This stranger who made Damascus weep, when
بيت لجاورجيوس أنشا بنايته

رسم يلوح به سقمي بحبكم

يا من ترحل عن عيني وأودعها
هنيئا غدوتم في رياض مسرة

هذا جمال الدين أمسى نازلا
لقد خط ريحان الجمال عذاره

بني غناجة بشرى بنجل
ناح ابن مزهر سلوم الكريم على

هذا عزيز بني الجلاد قد فتكت
لقد مضى سعد رزوق الكريم إلى

من آل دلال كريمة معشر
