Made the generous sons of 'Awn weep when he passed away,

2. Eyes wept for his death, and within every heart after him
Was the fire of sorrow.

3. A noble man whom we buried beside a handful of dust
In which perfection was buried, as fate willed.

4. So say, "Peace be upon his soil," chronicling
And may mercy and contentment adorn his side.
