1. This stranger who made Damascus weep, when
He met separation in his journeys, faced his fate

١. هَذا الغَريبُ الَّذي أَبكى دِمَشقَ وَقَد
لاقى مِن البينِ في أَسفارِهِ أَجَلا

2. He left the noble family of Qalawoz grieving
For as long as time continues, their tears flow

٢. أَبقى لآلِ قلاووزَ الكِرامَ أَسىً
مَدى الزَمانِ يُلاقي مَدمَعاً هَطِلا

3. He went to his Forgiving Lord, taking
The paths of his exile to the Most High as his roads

٣. مَضى إِلى ربِّهِ الغَفارِ مُتَّخِذاً
مِن سُبْلِ غُربَتِهِ نَحوَ العُلى سُبُلا

4. So if you visit his grave, O historian
Write "Abraham prayed to God and He responded"

٤. فَإِن تَذر تِربَهُ يا مَن يُؤرِّخُهُ
أَكتب دَعا اللَهُ إِبراهيمَ فَاِمتَثَلا
