شَهمٌ مَضى لِجوارِ الخالقِ الصَمَدِ

٢. رُكنٌ قَد اِنبَسَطَت لِلمكرُمات يَدٌ
مِنهُ وَحازَ مَقاليدَ العُلى بِيَدِ

For he was among her greatest pillars
٣. ناحَت عَلى فَقدِهِ بَيروتُ نادِبَةً
وَكانَ في أَرضِها مِن أَعظَمِ العَمَدِ
4. He left it with a history and kept it upright

٤. قَد سارَ عَنها بِتأريخٍ وَقامَ بِها
تِذكارُ يوسُفَ لا يُنسى إِلى الأَبَدِ
