1. The birds proclaimed the morning glow,
The flowers awoke to their calls.

After greeting, their robes perfumed.

Adorned by the jewels of the dawn.

4. The branches' tents cloaked it
As the wandering winds toyed with them forever.

5. Blessed is a garden where dreams are bought
And lives bartered for its joys.

6. The morn is sweet in it, so pour me
A cup in which purity circulates.

7. And if you see me lean to drink
Replenish me, for that is my way.

8. Let youth take its course in me
For the sober have no youthful spirit.

9. I beg God, the Almighty, to forgive me
For the morals of His noble deputy.

10. The master, the banner of knowledge,
With virtues the excellent are adorned.

11. Godfearing, his creed ever present,
Righteousness his garb and chastity his skirt.

12. Wakeful, watching God in his sleeplessness,
Having stayed up, while others sleep.

13. His shade covers the people, a sheltering cloud,
Wherein is rest and comfort.

14. My lord, God has granted us in him
Bounty, and equated us in measure.

15. With him, Beirut's fortune has been brightened
And the gloom lifted from its horizon.

16. He is the best unraveler of difficulties,
Before which minds stand helpless.

17. Wisdom and resolve have ordered matters;
His keen mind penetrated secrets.

18. With determination he tackles matters,
Trained never to lose pace.

19. O best of visitors to come to us,
The most majestic whom visitors seek!

20. The church thrilled at your blessed arrival,
Knowing none finer than you to heed.

21. A denomination triumphed, proud
To have you celebrated among men.

22. Let the Beirut district rejoice in you,
Still envied for you by all regions.

23. Congratulations! Always excel,
A full moon, outshining all stars!
