O steadfast in purpose for deeds take their course
سأرفع عن لسان الشعب شكري
I will lift off the tongue of the people my gratitude
قالوا حبست فقلت ليس بضائري
They said you were imprisoned, so I said my imprisonment does not bother me
عاطني يا تونسي في نخبها
Give me, O Tunisian, from her cream
زوجي حسينة خففي لأوائي

بحبل التعاضد نعتصم

نبأ الصلح طن فينا صداه
The news of peace roared within us
قرنت قلوصك ربها بزميله
