O killer in play

16. Say, what a jest
Say, what a singer

17. A toy with which
That gazelle child plays

18. And he came upon, establishing his desire
Oh poor soul, that desire

19. Woe to him, fate cast him
In a hole, ruined

20. Mocking, it threw him
On its electric wire

To take what he wished

That one cries "O father!"

26. Each had a family and
Brothers, as prescribed

27. They cried, but was there one among them
Who heard the Arab's voice

28. Least of all the one who wronged
The miserable, luckless foreigner?

29. It was no sin what he inflicted
Upon the likes of him in guilt

30. How much does the people suffer in
Their greenness from torment!

31. Each day of their lives
It casts them into affliction

32. If an oppressed one complains
They say he is causing trouble

33. While the situation with us is what you see
Of hardship and toil

34. They are above us in luxury
They are above us in office

35. While we the most deserving
Live a life of fatigue

36. In dwelling, clothing,
Food or drink

37. And the word of law could
Anger them

38. Which each man strives
For in desire

39. Live as brothers among us
With truth, not lies

40. Either a satisfactory life
Or thus in tumult
