1. I know what inspires poetry's creation
If its motives keep me steadfast

2. Restless are its two halves in sailing its sea
Even if its rhymes turn against me

3. In it no embellishment nor flaws
I'd mend a verse for its builder

4. What business have you in it?
In my hands you'd find its reins

5. My poetry follows its own ways
Wherever its meanings take me

6. Whenever artistry summons it
It comes enlivened and senses guide it

7. This is the society of old
Its resounding voice calls it

8. A forum for sincerity not known
To have such a caller as this

9. It includes the beloved ones of the school
Content with their efforts for it

10. Each overseer cares for an interest
From which principles stem

11. The awakening of nations leads it
Wherever its strides take it

12. The zeal of the free raises it
The eyes of the verdant watch over it

13. Its noble religion in its mention
To what satisfies its guide

14. Wearing from its essence honor
Oh how fine the palm that shakes its hand

15. The fathers of Arabs vouch for it
Islam suffices as its guarantee

16. Raising the stature of its language
God distinguished it by mention

17. The Quran boasts of it
It's protector and protected

18. Spreading knowledge amongst them
Haven't you fulfilled what's in it?

19. In it lies honor for its seeker
In it lies bliss for its reader

20. Open what's locked of it
Its streams will flow in you

21. Straighten crooked morals
What an illness we suffer from it

22. Ask history about nations
Swallowed by its valleys

23. Reflect on their condition
Their mirrors will uncover in you

24. Know the diseases and cures
Your knowledge of the illness brings healing

25. Whoever wants to save his nation
Has poured his hands generously

26. A person's duties are owed
To a Lord who will one day demand them

27. Woe to one who slacks
Falling into abysses

28. In the times' folds lies advice
Its nights concealed from him

29. Today unaware what tomorrow holds
If his past evades him

30. Tunisian, it awakens you today
Among you, memories of its locals

31. Like the one whose pillars were poems
Raising the status of its composer

32. And the brilliant composition on lessons
Of Ibn Khaldun and what's in it

33. And the one who authored its jurisprudence
And increased justice as its judge

34. These esteemed scholars
Not those whose verdicts are hidden

35. So wear the garments of might
The glory of its meanings made mighty

36. Raise your heads high in it
Your crown gleaming to its inspired one

37. Raise for knowledge its banners
Say, in it my home greened

38. Open in it your schools
Elevated, its minarets rising

39. Spread education amongst yourselves
The planter of good graced it

40. Don't miss an opportunity that presented itself
Knowing the time that's coming

41. Its flowers have bloomed
Your meadows gratis flourished

42. The clubs, see, opened
So spur on those you meet

43. And let each do their duty
And shake the hand extended in kindness

44. Whoever strives with good intent
Their striving, their wishes succeeded

45. Who among you does pride call
To generosity, that we compete?
