1. Words are like lightning and deeds like rain
So make your words truthful lightning

2. No caravan song was voiced on the road
Without it cutting through the air instantly

3. And use thought for the benefit of mankind
Do not neglect the homeland your Lord raised you in from childhood

4. Expend effort in discipline starting out
For you is advice so flow to the last

5. And remind your people of their ancestorsˈ history
What they used to be and what is in the eras of the past

6. Hopefully you straighten their path
With what you recount, making upright from behavior

7. And take reason as company when giving advice
From a bow taking aim off the bowstring

8. And know the places of ailments to treat them
For some medicines have led to danger

9. And see the mixture before treating
What suits, use it or leave it

10. And for your seed choose fertile soil first
For you have cast it on stone

11. And stick to a principle you have verified correctness
Until you steered by it, going with life

12. And know the nature of those whose affection you intend
Rarely do two hearts concur among mankind

13. Everyone sees their own flaws obviously
Since perfection is for Godˈs essence so consider

14. And know your Lord has a right to return to Him
Since the outcome is to Paradise or Saqar

15. And race ahead of others in righteousness and grace
For people are two types: harmful and beneficial

16. And incline toward doing good whose detriment
Is protection from evil in the world so be on guard

17. And make use of your life by obeying
We have no rest in it for life is a journey

18. That growth is movement with no standing
Flowing by divine decree among creation and fate

19. Life is like money, not sought
For itself so spend it constantly with contentment

20. And do not depend in it on anyone
Even if your father so no life for one needing

21. Do not spoil a favor by mentioning it
And do not forget a good deed

22. And work for your world what will avail you in the next
The sensible person does not limit himself to the life

23. And see its fickleness among people, one day
For Amr and sometimes for Matar

24. Hoping for fortune from it though fortune is like
A mirage the fool sees with sight

25. All see it but in others, never
To an individual though many morals in eras

26. If they had learned from events when born
They would have said a day of death

27. It is complaints so they have not praised
An era in it and it does not part from danger

28. And living wholly diverse troubles
Even pleasures not devoid of bitterness

29. If we were given a choice we would not choose but nonexistence
Yet the matter is consigned to fate

30. So do not let a long era deceive you
Consider its past to judge it as short

31. And in the nightsˈ differing is what indicates
That time and what it contains is in a journey

32. So let all know there must be nonexistence
For the universe and greed in life is shamelessness

33. The happiest people if you examine are the most ascetic
So be ascetic, you will find in it rest from distress

34. We came not knowing where we came from
Or how we were and did not realize a trace

35. Why are we today exerting great effort on
The essence of genesis? What drew us to thinking?

36. If there was no hearing in us and no sight
There would be no thought, what hearing and sight!

37. If I knew inanimate livelihood I would not
Have preferred in living but the livelihood of stone

38. But perhaps it desires my life as I
Desire its life while both are in danger

39. These planets from the epoch of early times died
Appearing and hiding, the sun shooting sparks

40. O one who sees, do you see above it what is beyond our planet
Or is it pure imaginings of forms?

41. There is no means between us to uncover the matter
And we have not known about it but supposition

42. I have no philosophy leading to fatigue
And Iˈm no naturalist or theorist

43. But a poet among Muslims who sees
What God has said in Qurˈan and tradition

44. A Muslim commissioning the matter to his Creator
Hoping for salvation as time has lessons

45. Confirming the Return in which is his resurrection
Good news for the Muslim follower waiting

46. For that I have blissful living so I do
Not fear death as if I am not among mankind

47. I enjoy wholesome life as Muslim who submitted
Himself safeguarding his conscience from deviant thought

48. I believe in God as a Sender of messengers
With truth, last of them the Chosen One from Mudar

49. My conscience rests in the light of His Decisive
We did not exchange what of verses and suras

50. Good fortune to one whose belief took a stand for Him
Among people, he whom God grants victory is granted victory
