In times past

6. Your reign lasted seven years
After the tenth year

7. In it you united our hearts
With the hand of the wise master

8. And you owned the hearts of people
With a pure heart

9. This is it, and in the seventies
The Victorious Lord called upon you

10. You met Him in Dhu al-Qi'dah
With an angry face

11. And your tongue's state was saying
What does my poet say about me?

12. So I answered Him seeking mercy
With tears filling my eyelids

13. This is the loss of our land
Neither green nor denier

14. He is a pearl in their crown
Pleasing to the onlooker

15. His kindness adorned leadership
Those ruled loved him

16. He left landmarks in history
Which are the best landmarks

17. If you asked, you found of his grace
An abundant ocean

18. He captivated minds with his kindness
Honored people with his generosity

19. We don't forget him nor forget him
On the painful, remorseful day

20. When it was said, hand over the crown
To the grip of the defiant one

21. Hoping, like his nation, for justice
