1. The grave is but a translator of the deceased
What an eloquent yet silent preacher he is

2. The state of affairs has spoken through him, rendering
Our mouths mute, listening to that silent one

3. A lesson to you, what a lesson it is you see
Woe to him who has not learned from the past

4. They carved graves for those who lived out their days
So these became preachers to the engravers

5. The son of Adam sprouted from the soil of his ancestors
And to dust shall return that sprout

6. Your world is a rising moon with its heavens
Our lives revolved around it like a halo

7. We are the moths to its light so we
Have no rest or respite in it

8. O you who saw life's toil in this world
Will you feel secure in rest after death?

9. Reason has caused us misery and joy so
No reasonable one despairs over the inevitable

10. I wish the passing days would empathize
And lament in life my own complaints

11. The state of people is visibly evil
If only I knew the hidden and obscure

12. One is guided, his affair surrendered
While others swim in seas of misguidance

13. And death the revealer of truths shines
With its sword, bringing knowledge after ignorance
