1. The grave of a human, wherever you visited it
Compels you to count yourself among the most eloquent speakers

2. As if it were an interpreter for the dead, making clear
That neither the living grants anyone escape

3. So listen with a heart to what its essence whispers
For its words are truth, since it knows no lies

4. Each entrusts the other to dust against
Their wills, and every walker meets an abyss

5. We hope for life, yet the life is nothing but
Drawing us nearer death, for it is its cause

6. They said, “Your life is toil,” so I said to them
“Would that I knew! Do I disdain it if toil departs?”

7. When doubts have confused the one seized by illusion
Reason is too powerless to pierce the veils

8. Happy is the believer who finds peace
In this world and the next, but miserable is he who is troubled

9. Say: Thus in the world was His will
And nothing was except what was written in His tablet

10. The messengers brought good tidings, and it is a warner
Of the One who created the epochs and the eons

11. Whomever God guides is saved, so believe him!
And in the end, He has honored the Arabs
