شوقي إليك كثير فوق ما اصف

هذا مثالي في يديك جعلته

صارخا في ربى نجد بواديها
Screaming in the meadows of Najd and its valleys
جرت نغمات العود فيه كانها
The melody of the lute flowed in it as though
ولقد عجبت لضارب عودا بلا
I was amazed by one striking a lute undeservedly,
لا تعجبن اذا رأيت العود قد

صبرا بني فرج الله الكرام على
Patience, my son, for God's relief is noble

وجماعة تلقاك باسمة

هوى بين التحرك والسكون
My longing sways between movement and stillness
لام فيك كل خلي
Every perfection in you captivates me
لجبرائيل كاتب قد تجلى
Gabriel, the scribe, has appeared
سلام فاح منه كل طيب
A greeting whose fragrance spreads sweetness
الشهب تحت القبة الزرقآء
The meteors beneath the azure dome
أخلق بجسمك أن يبيت كليلا
Nurture your body that it may sleep soundly,
إن كنت قد أنذرت بالمفقود

فتاة آل صليبا قد مضت فجرى

من آل عبوج شهم سار مرتحلا

جاء الربيع فاين من اهواه

رقيت مقاما انت في الناس فوقه

لا بدع إن كان أعطي القوس باريها

جسم أخف من المياه وعكسه

طيور الأنس قد صدحت بروض

هو الموت الا ان خطبك اعظم

شممت لخديها من الورد نفحة

ضريح لا براهيم جهشان قد سقت
لا تطلب ما هان في الدنيا ورم
تليد الهوى في مهجتي وطريفه
لا بد من كدر يلم بما صفا
عجبا لعود بات حيا ناطقا
دهر به العميان احسن حالة
نسيبنا الجنبلاطي الكريم سمت
من آل حلاق عزيز راحل
مذاكرة الآداب ما بين اهلها
لا تأخذن بظاهر فلربما
غصن نضير من بني حوآء قد

ألا روحوا روحي برائحة الورد
هذا مثالي ان أغب
أبدا عليك يعود عودا احمدا
من الغرب وافى كوكب الشرق عن قرب
الأمس ينشرنا ويطوينا الغد
على قوامك تبكي أغصن البان
ارى العود نشوانا يميل فقيل لي
نزلت عليك من البها آياته
كأن فتاة الحي بعد نوانا
هويت بدرا اذا ما لاح مكتملا
أحبك يا ظلوم فانت روحي
الجاذبية تجذب الاجسام من
مرض الحبيب بجسمه من لطفه
أَحسن بديوان السليم كانه
هذا المحرك بالمياه وإنه
شكت وجعا في عينها فاجبتها
