Minds in intelligence have outrun minds

6. And by it we knew religion and worldly life together
When we read the Torah and the Bible

7. And by it we see the faraway and the close
So we see access to the most remote countries

8. And how much by it the enemy stabbed his enemy
And how much by it the beloved saw his beloved

9. And we see it become the axis of life but it never
Ceased to be dear wherever it was glorious

10. And of wonders that a mute translates
What you order him and he says

11. It has no association with the self-important except whom
The train of fine speech has trailing robes

12. For the one who chose the pen with which he armed
A sword in the grip of an unsheathed brave knight

13. This makes the blood of the proud flow, enlivening
While the sword kills as a shedder of blood

14. O you in whose heart my heart has a homeland in it
A companion for that he does not wish to return
